It may seem an odd question, but with the recent Dark Elves releases and some of the new Space Marine models - could Games Workshop be moving away from their truly multi-part kits?
Just look at their Reclusiam Command Squad - the only new model in there isn't truly multi-part or poseable and it's not the only one!
Lets compare the old Space Marine Commander and the newer Space Marine Captain.
Within the past 12 months the vast majority have gone out of business or headed to eBay who are also being pressured.
Is this also an attempt to stop the kit-bashing element to the hobby?
Do Games Workshop want to change the face of their minis so we can't decide the poses or do they just want to fit more on the one sprue?
As an ardent hobbyist this worries me!
The creative outlet is what got most of us here, and the ability to do more with what they sell keeps us here.
With legal action against bits suppliers and newer kits that don't allow pose options - one can only hope I'm wrong. Because if I'm right, then GW might just find people going over to Mantic or other games companies who don't want so much control.
