It's only fair to start with the boss, and here he is, the Saturnine Praetor in all his immense glory. There's been a lot of senseless whinging about this model since release - he's too big, he's too complicated etc etc - and frankly it needs to stop! 1) This is a mark of armour from a bygone era, it's not going to match the size of 30K armour - get over it! 2) For a miniature of such importance in your army, and this price he costs in points and money, don't you want him to have lots of options? Don't you want him to be a modelling challenge? Don't you want him to be fun to paint? Honestly, can the Community (and by that I mean the YouTubers) please shut the **** up? For those of us who want value, want a challenge and want to enjoy our painting experience, this model is great, this model is fine, this model is something thgat deserves time and attention. Please STOP!
Okay, back to the show... a favourite from this range is the new Centurion with Power Maul who manages to carry weight, power and authority all in this one miniature. He can be built without his cape, but some parts of the arms and shoulders are attached to the cape, so be aware. He's a brilliant model and will be back here at HQ ASAP. With Terminators now being Heavy rather than Elite, maybe this is in the wrong order, but we also have the Saturnine Terminator Squad - which sort of misses for me. The underslung weapons as opposed to a power fist and hand-held weapon taking it right back to the old school days would have been preferred, but there you go. They still look cool and come with weapon and head options. The MKII Tactical Squad that we showed two weeks ago now has an off-shoot with the MKII Veteran Squad with Disintegrator Weapons. I was surprised the Tactical Squad didn't come with the Disintegrator weapons, but now there's the Veteran Squad it makes more sense. Speaking of which, you can n0w get the Disintegrator Weapons Upgrade Set individually as well! The combi-Bolter with Disintegrator looks so great too. The Praetor may be large, but check this guy out - the Saturnine Siege Dreadnought. He comes in two flavours; Chiron Configuration and Ophion Configuration, with the Saturnine Dreadnought Weapons – Chiron Configuration and Saturnine Dreadnought Weapons – Ophion Configuration also available a seperate items. Slight bone to pick here in terms of lore; from memory the heavy plasma bombard is a Mechanicum weapon made on Mars, so why is it on a mech made on Saturn? Did I miss something? Open to being corrected. The Adeptus Astartes don't just have troops today, they also have big guns, with the Araknae Quad Accelerator Platform available to order too. Armed with twice the weapons you would find on a Sicaran turret, that's some serious firepower, and sure to end up on the chassis of some vehicle at some point. Making it's way from the dim-distant past of two weeks ago, the original Drop Pod returns, this time in the guise of the Legion Drop Pod. After some crtitical feedback on the new Drop Pod from the Community, it seems Games Workshop have rolled this old lady out to the Heresy hobbyists and players. It will be interesting to see if this delays any of the Heresy-specific marks of Drop Pod being released. In terms of play accessories, we have the Age of Darkness Markers and Tokens and the Age of Darkness Dice Set. In books we have the (deep breath) The End and the Death: Volume III - The Horus Heresy: Siege of Terra Book 8 in paperback... yes it's the end. The end-end! Until that boring omnibus comes out in paperback. And to prove it's the end... look here's a map to find your way - it's the Here is Where it Will End Map.
