This release comes with some significant additions to the background, a new anti-Tyranid hero in the form of Buri Aegnirssen, Arkanyst Evaluator - a mad scientist with nuts weapons and the sentient Ironkin Memnyr Strategist. The big addition are the Ironkin Steeljacks, larger stronger warriors powered by the same CU that powers any other Ironkin, just taller with bigger guns. An interesting addition to the range is the Cthonian Earthshakers, which reintroduces the Rogue Trader-era Mole Mortar to Warhammer 40K. Sending projectiles down and then up, instead of up and then down, these weapons can get under walls and bit vehicles in their soft underbelly. Speaking of vehicles, there's a new grav-platform in town and it's the Kapricus Defender/Carrier combi-kit. Again drawing on the tech from Rogue Trader, this light transport/ light support vehicle could be a great option for your Leagues of Votann force, or even as terrain or a vehicle in Necromunda. Repackaging minis from the first and second wave, the Combat Patrol: Leagues of Votann gives you an Einhyr Champion, 3 x Brôkhyr Thunderkyn, 5 x Einhyr Hearthguard and 10 x Hearthkyn Warriors - a solid warrior cadre to start with! Of course we also get the Leagues of Votann Datasheet Cards and some pretty Leagues of Votann Dice.
It's not all short dudes with big guns this week, it's also big dudes with bigger guns as the Space Marine Salamamaders Chapter gets some love. We have the new Primaris-ified Vulkan He'stan, a new Combat Patrol: Salamanders which includes the awesome Adrax Agatone, an Invader ATV, 3 x Eradicators, 5 x Assault Intercessors and 10 of the all-important Infernus Marines - they are Salamanders after all. There's also some shiny Salamanders Dice on pre-order this week too!
It's not all good guys this week though, Khorne has a new Slaughterbound champion, and Nurgle emerges with the very cool Lord of Poxes. Get stuffed, Nurgle, I'm not taking the bait.
In books this week we have a Nurgle-themed The Lords of Silence in a really nice looking Illustrated and Annotated Edition, The High Kâhl's Oath in paperback and the Imperial Guard-themed Final Deployment also in paperback.
