The recent Daughters of Khaine Battletome has only increased rumours that Games Workshop may indeed be introducing "fishmen" with the inclusion of Idoneth Deepkin and the recent underwater scenery piece previewed. Rumours are speculating an Aelven type race, but what if Games Workshop were drawing influence from a very successful Kickstarter...
In 2013 Cool Mini or Not launched what was, at the time, the most successful miniature Kickstarter. to date - Wrath of Kings. One of the adversaries in that were the House of Hadross which had some really awesome miniatures, including some very large beasts.
Knowing the lead time it takes Games Workshop to get an idea into miniature form, 2013 (and the eventual much-delayed miniature delivery in 2015) would make the time they would have been designing the Idoneth Deepkin surely around then... and this very successful Kickstarter surely couldn't have missed their attention!
We're only spit-balling here, but it will be very interesting to see what this release, rumoured to be April, will look like!

It's quite a big day today, with the 20th Anniversary of Black Library spewing forth a fair few items. Bit of a break with tradition to not do new minis first, but since these are available TODAY, lets look at these first - The new Eisenhorn miniature and Eisenhorn novel The Magos which also includes all the short stories published as well are here. If you feel like taking out a second mortgage, there is also an AMAZING looking The Magos: Special Edition! The new Lukas the Trickster novel and re-release miniature also make a reappearance today. These are all available today, as are two classic Black Library novels chosen by the fans to be re-released: Brothers of the Snake and Drachenfels.

Now - want to talk about miniatures? We know we do! Yes, the Daughters of Khaine are upon us and they're rolling out the big model first - Morathi in all her glory. There's two versions of Morathi in this kit and with a Primarch sized price tag, one can only be thankful! There is of course the Daughters of Khaine Battletome, Warscroll Cards and Dice (in odd colours for the colour palette we've seen for these minis so far! Maybe it means something...). Speaking of colour palettes, there are also some re-release miniatures for the Daughters of Khaine in the form of the Witch Aelves/ Sisters of Slaughter and the Doomfire Warlocks/ Dark Riders kits - but none of these sets have been shown here or on the box art in the new Khaine colours. This is the old box art and old images! Why not paint rephotograph them in their new colours? Seems a bit cheap and nasty to us! The Bloodwrack Shrine/ Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood/ Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood also gets a re-release.
Away from miniatures, there is a Warhammer 40K Journal, the Cadia Stands novel in paperback, plus Ashes Of Prospero and Eight Lamentations: Spear of Shadows all for your reading pleasure.
White Dwarf March 2018 is also out next week looking at Designers’ Notes for the Daughters of Khaine and also rules for Genestealer Cults in Necromunda and more... well so they say!

Not sure the influence for these Death Masks, but they'd be great for bodyguards or elite troops in any infantry force!

Where it all started! The Enemy Trooper Heads are so good. We have some and hope to get some minis painted up to show them off very soon!

Bit of a funny pre-order week this one! Age of $igmar is front and centre with two Start Collecting sets - one for Kharadron Overlords and another Stormcast one, this time it's Stormcast Vanguard. Both of these ranges are some of the most expensive, so these sets are certainly great to boost your forces as you're saving $120 AUD on each one.
​One of the few female Stormcast, Neave Blacktalon, is also getting a solo release which is excellent news as there have been some amazing Dark Eldar and Slaaneshi conversions using this model as a base.
Made To Order is back with two Necromunda sets - Kal Jerico & Scabbs and Mad Donna Ulanti. Now I realise it's been school holidays around the world, but maybe getting the kids to paint these models for the photoshoot was a bad idea - they look awful! Not sure what's happening over at GW, but after the fiasco of the upside down Bolters on the new Space Wolves upgrades, and now these awful paint jobs, one wonders who is running the asylum.
Away from minis, there's also a new Harlequins audio drama from Gav Thorpe -  Heirs of the Laughing God: A Deadly Wit.
Another fill-in week, and another week without a new Tau/ Necron/ Dark Eldar/ Ork Codex in sight!

We're not even going to pretend to know what this is, but despite it's very cleverly been shown as a fishbowl terrain piece, if you look closely, there are live eels/ fish moulded onto this piece. Now is it one piece, or is it part of a set? Is it a new race in Age of $igmar? Is it Dark Elf pirates? Is it Dwarven pirates?
After the success of Wrath of Kings by Cool Mini Or Not and their fish people, anything could happen! All will be revealed!

Pestilence is still rife in the Beardy Hammer HQ, which has meant a lot of sleeping and recuperating, but it's the weekend and ​pre-orders are indeed here for all.
The Necromunda gangs have all been a huge hit for GW, and the preview of the Orlocks some months back was met with a storm of excitement - and now they are here. We have Orlocks miniatrures (with their cool barrel magazines on their guns), there are Orlocks dice and Orlock Gang Tactics Cards as well as an Orlock paint set! With the Orlocks comes the next book in the Gang War series to expand play with new rules and characters, Gang War 2. There's also a whole new area to fight in - Underhive Badzone Delta-7 with new tiles and scenarios to continue the war on. Forge World have also brought out some new minis for Necromunda, the Necromunda Hired Guns, the rules for which are included in the Gang War 2 book also on pre-order this week. Away from the 40K universe, Sahdespire has thrown up some new minis too, with the Skaven forces getting Spiteclaw’s Swarm and the Fyreslayers getting The Chosen Axes. Both of these have dynamic minis and would look amazing scattered amongst your armies even if you don't play Shadespire. There are of course Skaven and Fyrelslayer themed dice and plastic sleeves for your cards for both Skaven and Fyreslayers. Now last week when the battleforces were announced for each of the Harbingers in Malign Portents, the one for Lord-Ordinator Vorrus Starstrike was not on the Australian site (this happens a bit actually), but now it is, so here is Lord-Ordinator's Command Alliance.
In other news, Forge World have also released the House Vyronii Transfer Sheet for Imperial Knights.
In books, The Sundering is another omnibus, this time set during the Ulthuan civil war. The paperback of Shroud of Night by Andy Clarke is out as is the paperback of the Horus Heresy novel, Praetorian of Dorn. 

It's not without some irony that we had some weeks of Nurgle releases spreading their vile germs, then Beardy Hammer HQ was hit with chicken pox (which as an adult is awful), and now this week we get the armies of Death as Malign Portents saunters into the room, shrugs it's shoulders and stands in the corner.

The expectation for Malign Portents was huge, so here's the 80-page Malign Portents book with fluff and new rules etc which is actually at a good price for what is supposed to be a major world event. These Harbingers, heroes from their individual factions have also taken the field - Keldrek: Knight of Shrouds, possibly the standout model in all the Stormcast faction Lord-Ordinator Vorrus Starstrike, beautifully crafted & fan favourite Fungoid Cave-Shaman Snazzgar Stinkmullett, and the not-so-great Darkoath Warqueen Marakarr Blood-sky which is a really boring model with no dynamic qualities whatsoever. Sad for a model with very positive things to add to the Community in terms of diversity - just could have been better. These Harbingers can also be bought with forces (probably the best way to get them) so Keldrek gets the Nighthaunt Spirit Host, there's Snazzgar's Portents of the Waaagh! and Marakarr's Warband of the Blood Sky. Starstrike doesn't get a force as yet but he does have gold pants! There are of course the usual themed add ons - dice, a combat gauge and the Malign Portents cards.Terrain has become more importantly, see the Nurgle forces use of the Feculent Gnarlmaw, so the re-released Warscryer Citadel also seems to be tactically very important. Whoever did the paint job on this model BTW did an amazing job!
Heading up this whole Malign Portents shindig is everyone's favourite Skeletor wannabe, Nagash, and his forces now have a new Battletome: Legions of Nagash which - from all reports - gives quite a bit more love to the unloved! There are also Warscroll Cards for Legions of Nagash too. Three of Nagash's Martarchs get bundles - Akhan gets the Lords of Sacrament, Mannfred get the Nightfall Pack, and Neferata gets the Court of Nulahmia. The option is still there to build any of the Mortarchs to lead these armies. The Terrorgheist kit now has a foruth incarnation with Prince Vhordrai now being the previously unnamed Vampire Lord rider. A few weeks ago we were speculating if there would be any new Death kits for this Battletome,  and the one we were thinking would go was the old Zombies kit. It wasn't in any of the new pictures - but alas here it is for it's 20th+ year which is a bit sad, BUT if you do want to use them, try swapping the heads with some of the Citadel Skulls as really the old heads are the main issue.
