Last week saw the brand new Chaos Space Marines and the bulk of the re-releases go up on pre-order, and this week we see two specialist units for the CSM - both iconic and both really nicely re-imagined. ​
The Havocs are Chaos' version of the traditional Devastator Space Marines, and this new look team have some brilliant throwbacks to various eras of Havocs, including the shitty 90's missile launcher! These guys look brilliant, and although quite static in pose, are again a very tempting must-have! The second CSM release next week are the Chaos Space Marines Terminators - keeping the iconic spikes and horns of the older plastic kits now with added flair. Again, more a NEED than a want!
Oh and White Dwarf is out next week... YAWN!

After more teases than a Can-can line-up, Slaanesh has finally returned with a host of lustful hedonites to tempt you towards the path of the Dark Prince, She Who Thirsts!
First off the bus is the rather sizeable Keeper of Secrets. It's a little hard to work out the scale of this miniature, but we're thinking about the size of the Cygor. Backing up the Keeper of Secrets are a host of champions including Syll’Esske – a Daemon Prince and companion Herald,  a new look for the Masque, and a new miniature which seems to be a portal guarded by some not very attractive Slaaneshi daemons. The interesting thing about this new line of Slaanesh is the new Elizabethan-style ruffles and what seems to be an allusion to decadent days of the French royal court. There is a new Endless Spells: Slaanesh too and the Hedonites of Slaanesh Battletome.
These all look very cool, but having some human Acolytes, like the Tzeentch ones would also be amazing! We can't wait to see more, what do you think? Certainly a very different looking force to field!

​Chaos Space Marines - to some the coming of evil, to others the vengeance wrought by sons betrayed by their father - has broken like a wave on the shore of the Community, and all is right with the world. 2019 finally sees Chaos Space Marines get the attention they have so richly deserved for so long. To the simplest in the Community they are the bad guys, to the more nuanced they are those who turned their back on (as the Horus Heresy fluff now tells us was) an uncaring father, so allying themselves with unknown power from beyond The Warp. Enough foreplay... because all of this is in honour of the next part of Imperium Nihilus, Vigilus Ablaze which comes in Raining Black Death From the Heavens Collector's Edition and the Mum There's a Spiky Man At The Door Standard Edition. plus if you pre-order it on the webstore you can get this lovely pin! Now with Chaos entering the fray, Codex Heretic Astartes is here and interestingly the new Codex only comes in one flavour - Spikey Death To Our Father Standard Edition. If you're more a hobbyist or were stung by getting a new Codex only a few months ago so you're on strike, there's the minis - and they do not disappoint. Abaddon the Despoiler, the Warmaster is back - bigger and frankly frakkin' amazing! There's a tonne of features on this guy and customizable elements. Even for the price, he's worth it. What would a leader be without troops, and here's where we get the real joy - Chaos Space Marines! ​Every race and their domesticated creature of choice now has some special scenery and the Chaos Space Marine one does not disappoint -  the Noctilith Crown is basically a massive blackstone shield generator and it's cool!! As with most new releases there are themed Chaos Space Marines Dice and Chaos Space Marines Datacards. Now if you're #HardForHeresy for these releases, then you can get these free Chaos Dog Tags by ordering the weekend's Chaos pre-orders and if you just order the new Codex online, then you'll get these Chaos Art Cards. There have been a number of Chaos vehicles including the Heldrake, Rhino, Forgefiend/Maulerfiend combi-kit which have been off the site for a while - well they're now back and repackaged along with the Chaos Cultists and the Chaos Terminator Lord/ Sorcerer combi-kit.
In the tradition of Chaos, the Iron Warriors: The Omnibus is finally out telling the story of the rise of the infamous Iron Warrior's Warsmith Honsou via Graham McNeill’s Ultramarines series. I was very tempted by this, but knowing it's couched in terms of the Ultras takes the shine (pun intended) off it. Also out in books next week is the first novel in the Warhammer Horror line The Wicked and the Damned and the audio drama Perdition's Flame.

Khorne is the most brutal of the Chaos Gods. Bend on bloodshed and destruction, the forces of Khorne rampage about, smashing stuff up more than your average 8 year old in your Gundam collection. The spotlight is never far from Khorne, to be frank - after Nurgle Khorne is GW's favourite Chaos entity to constantly relaunch. SO here we find ourselves with a new Khorne Battletome for Age of $igmar, a few new minis and a pretty cool scenery piece.  The Battletome itself comes in two flavours; Lop It Off And Drink From It's Skull Limited Edition and the Chain Axe As a Butter Knife Standard Edition. There's two new daemon characters too, Skulltaker and Bloodmaster, Herald of Khorne - as is the way with all the newer Chaos releases, there is always a Herald. Flash Hounds are a big part of Khorne, so for the first time out of the Wrath and Rapture boxed set we get the new plastic Flesh Hounds and their master Karanak, The Hound of Vengeance. Thing to notice about these four releases is that they can be used in Ao$ or 40K - again pointing to the return of Realm of Chaos-era sharing of forces across both universes. Now Khorne doesn't do magic, but they do do "judgements" so the Endless Spells.... I mean Endless Judgements of Khorne pop up too. Blood For The Blood God, Skulls For The Throne of Khorne may entail some sort of ceremony, so what better than an altar, a large Skull Altar to be precise. Games Workshop aren't straying much from the look they set up in the first Age of $igmar starter box really - red plate with gold trim. Khorne is a little more nuanced than that, so it is a bit of a shame to see these so simple wrought. To go with your new forces, you'll be needing some Warscroll Cards too. Interesting to see a Khorne release mainly built around daemons, which seems to be the trend these days. The mortal followers of Khorne might like a little update too, especially from the not-very-exciting 1st Edition Ao$ minis we got.
In books we have a doozy, which in our neck of the woods is all sold out - its the beginning of the end of the Horus Heresy and to celebrate, this limited edition Solar War, the first of 8 books set around the Siege of Terra is on it's way next week.

Generational change is an odd thing - the next thing comes along and it looks like the old thing, but then it's also not the old thing. It seems that for Games Workshop, generational change means robes or cloaks or tabards and the word "Vanguard". Post-Malign Portents, GW brought out Gen 2 Stormcast, added robes, made them more dynamic and used the term Vanguard. Fast forward 12 months or so and we get the Shadowspear boxed game with Gen 2 Primaris Marines and - well butter me on both sides and call me Nancy - we have Primaris Vanguard Space Marines.... in tabards and cloaks. Of course it's not just about Primaris, it's also about the LONG delayed Chaos Space Marines, and boy do they look amazing! Drawing on miniatures from Blackstone Fortress, these guys are well worth the wait! The tactical nature of these forces is questionable, but the minis do look amazing - and for the price they should be. This is not a cheap set, but certainly a cool looking one! Bit of a drawback on this set is the lack of poseability - these are mono-pose (effectively) at a multi-pose price. This pricing was also a trend set by the Stormcast Gen 2 and the ghosts that came with them. We'll coin it Vanguard Pricing. Also out are the Shadowspear Datacards, available exclusively from the webstore if you order Shadowspear.
In books, Warhammer Chronicles: Knights of the Empire, which has been hanging around the webstore for months is finally available.

Necromunda continues to impress the Community, and not just the Necromunda players, but also hobbyists from across the Warhammer Universes - especially for the Blanchitsu and INQ28​ converters out there - with a range of interesting miniatures that delve deeper into the lore than the more traditional WH40K range. Taking the old-school Ambull and turning it into a robot to produce the Luther Pattern Excavation Automata "Ambot", has been greeted with excited squeals as there are very few automata in plastic form in this universe. For the price, these are a must-have! Also in Necromunda this week, are the Necromunda 40mm Bases - only 5 in the pack, but also a very good price! When Speed Freaks was released we were told that there were two vehicles in there that were exclusive to that set - so here they are now separately, the Kustom Boosta-blasta and the Shokkjump Dragsta. Lacking the weapons options of the other kits, these are still pretty cool.
Despite not being stocked in most GW stores, Adeptus Titanicus has been a big hit, especially in the powerful Horus Heresy Community! With the ever expanding range, GW have now released the new weapon sprues seen on some of the later Titans releases to further customise your force. For the Warlord we have the Volcano Cannons and Apocalypse Missile Launchers and for the Reavers, the Melta Cannon, Chainfist, Volcano Cannon and Turbo Laser and the classic Gatling Blaster, Power Fist, Laser Blaster and Apocalypse Missile Launcher. Also next week the next in the series of decals, this time for the Traitors, Legio Fureans.
Next week also sees some Made To Order Skaven - only a week or two late - with the classic Thanquol with Boneripper, Grey Seer, the super-cool ​Ikit Claw, Queek Headtaker, and Deathmaster Snikch only available for the next week. 
In books next week there's also The Beast Arises Volume 1 in Paperback which collects the first four parts of this seemingly forgotten super-amazing-world-changing series...

The new Angron: Slave of Nuceria, the latest in the Primarchs series of books from Black Library has been released in Limited Edition form and although I haven't read it all yet, having read the Forward, there is a small quote from Gheer - final Legion Master of the XIIth Legion War Hounds.
This builds on the stark differences between the War Hounds and their soon-to-be-progeny the World Eaters, as shown in Betrayer by Aaron Dembski-Bowden and After Desh'ea by Matthew Farrer.
Where the War Hounds were conquerors, the World Eaters are slaughterers.
