The Host of Mars march to war with the new expansion book for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy - Legions Imperialis, The Rise of the Dark Mechanicum! The book gives us rules for Mechanicum Taghmata units and also, Dark Mechanicum forces, with some units we have never seen before. Games Workshop say that it will be a long time until we see these in the larger Horus Heresy scale ,but who knows! Interestingly, this book also gives youy rules for fielding armies of Titans and Questoris Knights - which I guess sees us move from Adeptus Titanicus to Legions Imperialis as the sole "epic scale' miniature game. Games Workshop have actually just restarted using "epic" as a word to describe this scale, but it's small "e" not capital "E". To go with this book we get the entire Mechanicum range all in one box! Yep, the Legions Imperialis: Mechanicum Battle Group includes 146 minis, incorporating – Archmagos Prime on Abeyant, Vultarax, Arlatax, Myrmidon Secutors, Domitars, Tech-Priest Auxilia, Vorax, Ursarax, Triaros, Castellax, Myrmidon Destructors, Thallax, Thanatar, and Adsecularis Tech-Thralls. Great decision to bring it all out at once. We can but hope for plastic Myrmidons to make it to Horus Heresy scale very soon. There's also two battlegroups to go along with the new expansion, the Knight House Battle Group and the Titan Battle Group. There's of course the obligatory Legions Imperialis: Mechanicum Army Cards, plus a new repackaging of the Legions Imperialis: Manufactorum Imperialis Sector, this time giving you even more buildings. Absolutely vital for the game, an they seem like great fun to paint.
Away from these tiny tine troops, we have the remaining Blood Angels releases from last week including the Stormcast Eternals... I mean the Sanguinary Guard and the Combat Patrol: Blood Angels. Not exactly an inspired Combat Patrol, but it does include the new Captain (apparently the Blood Angels Captain from last fortnight but not pictured in the group shot) and the new Sanguinary Guard.
Now this cameout of nowhere, and hes's a great mini too - it's Tzatziki, Bane of Law. Not only a powerful Chaos Sorcerer, but a lovely accompaniment to any summer picnic. Brilliant looking mini!

Some much-needed love for the Horus Heresy Community in this week's pre-orders with some plastic and some Forge World resin love!
A joyous plastic release is the much-anticipated Legion Command Upgrade Set, which includes all new pieces to convert your Space Marine Command Squad. Interesting choice to have power swords/ Charnable Sabres instead of gladius', but the two banners and plumed helmets are pretty great, and the shields - so cool! There's also a new transfer sheet in here as well, with some new designs. Now if you would like to get yourself a Command Squad in one foul swoop, then you can also get the Legiones Astartes Command Squads - in both MkIII and MKVI flavours - which adds 5 models to the Legion Command Upgrade Set. Curious that this came before the expected re-release of the MKIV Space Marines, scaled-up to match their Brothers.
Now Horus Heresy loves a character, and this week we have four in resin on pre-order - the White Scar's Hibou Khan, Seeker of Atonement, Sons of Horus' ‘Little’ Horus Aximand, Captain of the 5th Company and Tybalt Marr, Captain of the 18th Company and former Iron Hand Shadrak Meduson, now Master of the Shattered Legions and owner of the most preppy haircut this side of Pluto!
Along with these releases are two re-released transfer sheets, Legiones Astartes Infantry Markings and Vehicle Markings Transfer Sheet - both vital to your Horus Heresy forces.
New kids on the block when it comes to Horus Heresy, but if you like your armies BIG and your troops tiny, then Legions Imperialis is for you! This week sees the pre-order of two Battle Groups, one for the Legiones Astartes and the other for the ​Solar Auxilia. These are joined by new Support Elements, the Legiones Astartes Predator Squadron and the Solar Auxilia Leman Russ Strike Squadron. If you've been holding off, now you can get an army in a box, so go forth and magnify!
The previous smaller-scale games Adpeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis now have their minis wrapped up into Legions Imperialis, with a whole lot of repacking going on. So what's on offer? Well you can take to the air with the Fire Raptor Squadron, Storm Eagle Squadron, Xiphon Interceptor Squadron, Avenger Strike Fighters or the Thunderbolt Fighter Squadron. Or you can pound the earth in mighty mechs with the Warmaster Iconoclast Heavy Battle Titan, the Cerastus Knights Acheron And Castigator, the Acastus Knights Porphyrion, Warhound Scout Titans With Turbo-Laser Destructors And Vulcan Mega-Bolters, Warhound Titans With Ursus Claws And Melta Lances or Dire Wolf Heavy Scout Titans. It's a great shame that GW didn't just add the new Ursus Claws And Melta Lances sprue to the existing Warhound Titan kit to create one all-encompassing kit - this would have been the perfect opportunity - but alas they again forget service as something they offer their customers. In fact just have a look at the price rise on all these repackaged kits and you will see we are much more loyal to GW than GW is loyal to us. Happily for many, there are also two terrain kits too, the Civitas Imperialis Spires and Civitas Imperialis - these kits always sell out very quickly! 
In books this week we have The Horus Heresy: Siege Of Terra Book 7: Echoes Of Eternity in paperback, and the next in the series of maps, this time it's the ​Sanctum Imperialis Palatine Map.

A little bit of catch-up this week for Australia and New Zealand, but also some new stuff we can share with the rest of the world.
This week we get to pre-order the next in the Age of $igmar series of expansions, Dawnbringers: Book V: Shadow of the Crone. As usual it comes in two flavours, Crusty Wings Limited Edition and Colonisation is Not Cool These Days Standard Edition, seeing the two enlightened forces of wonder and light forge their way across the darkened lands, establishing settlements where they weren't before and pissing off the residents who are having their land stolen! AAAAH Games Workshop, you picked a bad time for this narrative. You have to laugh!
There's two new boxes to go along with this, including the cover girl Krethusa Croneseer available for the first time in the Krethusa’s Cronehost. The minis included with her have been released in innumerable boxes before, but she is a great miniature, and probably an early contender for Golden Demon painters. Current post-wunderkind, Callis & Toll and their band of friends and fiends are in the Saviours of Cinderfall set. The old lady in this set is a must-have. She would be an amazing Rogue Trader/ Necromunda Lord/ Imperial Governor/ Space Marine toothbrush, even! Also in Age of $igmar, we get new terrain, with the Elder Gnarloak, Idol of Motzlpota, and Starfire Pylon (need/want) all available separately, plus the much-loved Ogor Mawpit. 
Now, as we catch up with the rest of the world, this week sees some new minis for Legions Imperialis, with the venerable and much-loved Land Raider Proteus Explorator Squadron getting to take to the field. Land Raiders are THE BEST!! Answering the question "Is Warhammer 40K in the same universe as Star Trek?" and getting a firm "YES", the ​Solar Auxilia Arvus Lighter is a great little vehicle for any Away Team of hapless Red Shirts. There's also the delayed release of the Legions Imperialis: Manufactorum Imperialis scenery to make your games a little less flat!
Speaking of Horus Heresy, there's a new character model, and this time it's ​Endryd Haar, The Riven Hound. One of the first XIIth Legion inductees, and therefore a War Hound (thus his name) this is a very dynamic miniature in some MKV armour that really needs a spit and polish. The audiobooks with Endryd Haar are worth a listen if you'd like a grumpy angrier view of the Horus Heresy!  
The next "core set" in Warhammer Underworlds is here, with Wintermaw on pre-order this week. Wintermaw sees the Brotherhood of the Bolt go head to head with the Skinnerkyn. Both of these warbands are things of nightmares, so I'm not sure who you'd barrack for!
Necromunda gets a little pat on the head this week (make sure you wash your hands afterwards), with the new Ash Waste Nomads Chieftain with Venom Caster. Brilliant looking model with an absolute tonne of detail! There's also the Outland Beastmaster with Giant Rat (notice one of those rats has a very Skaven looking head... we are very open to Skaven in Necromunda!) and if you need more, there's always the Wasteland Giant Rats. All gross, all the time!

There's also a few releases we were all slated to get, but it seems at least Australia and New Zealand miss out, so you'd better check if you're getting them too.
The bulk of the Legions Imperialis are AWOL, so if you're lucky, then this week you can pre-order the Medusa and Basilisk Batteries, Legiones Astartes – Drop Pods and the updated ​Warhound Titans kits that now comes with a new sprue of plastic weapons. There's enough in this set to have two sets of ursus claws, natrix shock lances, volkite eradicators, missile pods and Incisor-pattern melta lances. This is a great addition to the already excellent Warhound kit. The bastard cousin of the glorious Warhound is the Dire Wolf Heavy Scout Titan, and they get a new plastic kit this week which, like the Warhound, gives you two per box.
In normal Horus Heresy scale, there's also the new ​Legiones Astartes Infantry and Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheets, which we were all excited for and now we can't pre-order. BOOOO!! Hope you have better luck than we do.

Well it's a huge week - 40 individual items on pre-order this weekend -which would make it one of the largest pre-order weeks apart from the big pre-Xmas Bundles days of old! So where do we start? Let's dive into the new stuff first, then we'll get into the Warhammer: The Old World content!

Now this is interesting... usually all Horus Heresy releases have "The Horus Heresy: [insert name of release here]" as their release name, but the Solar Auxillia releases this weekend do not. Oversight? We'll see when the others get released, but it is interesting! First up is the Army Box set, the Solar Auxillia Battle Group, which includes 20 Solar Auxilia Rifle Section and 5 Solar Auxilia Tactical Command Section minis, the ugly-as-sin Aethon Heavy Sentinel, a Dracosan Armoured Transport and a Leman Russ Battle Tank in the Auxilia style rather than the familiar Warhammer 40K version we are used to. There's also transfer sheets included to round off the first look we'll have of this new Horus Heresy faction. This was slated as being delayed in Australia and New Zealand, but has the street date of 16/03/24, though independent retailers say 30/03/24. To accompany this set there is also the Solar Auxillia Dice Set, which isn't too exciting! Also in Horus Heresy this week we have three two new Consuls - the brooding ​Dark Emissary Consul and the White Scars Stormseer Consul. There's also a dual-pack Apothecarion Detachment, with one in MkV and the other in MkVI armour. These are both great miniatures and a great addition to your forces. 
On the smaller side of the Horus Heresy, the next expansion for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Legions Imperialis – The Great Slaughter - is also here. Titans, tanks and infantry all together in a bloody melee. This release is also supported by the Legions Imperialis: The Great Slaughter Army Cards. The miniature range is also expanding, with the new Legions Imperialis: Malcador Infernus And Valdor Tank Destroyers, Spartan Assault Tanks, Solar Auxilia Support and Legiones Astartes Support being released for the new clash! Transports and support are all-important in this game, and with Titans in the mix, well you need to keep away from those giant stompy feet!
​Warhammer: The Old World had a big launch some weeks ago, and now the Tomb Kings of Khemri box is being split into individual forces, with Tomb King/Liche Priest On Necrolith Bone Dragon, Skeleton Chariots, Tomb Kings Skeleton Horsemen/Horse Archers and Tomb Kings Skeleton Warriors/Archers now available as large sets. These sets see the largest number of troops per box of any of the individual GW units. Also in the Tomb Kings range is the brand new dynamic Nekaph, Emissary Of Settra in resin, and the classic Tomb King On Chariot (metal and plastic), Prince Apophas (metal), Necrotect (metal), plus the newly remastered in resin Screaming Skull Catapult, Carrion and Tomb Scorpion sets on pre-order this week.
The Bretonnians may not have had their boxed set split yet, but they still get some reinforcements this week with the brand new plastic Knights of the Realm on-foot - that was previewed this week as a Pre-order, but has seemingly gone straight to New Releases, so it may even be in store today! Bretonnia also gets the classic but previously unreleased Lord With Great Weapon (metal), The Green Knight (metal), Prophetesses Of The Lady (metal), the much-loved Bretonnian Questing Knights Command and Bretonnian Questing Knights (both a mix of plastic horses and metal minis), Knights Of The Realm/Knights Errant (excellent classic kit in plastic), the Squires Command and Squires (both in metal) and the newly remastered Field Trebuchet in resin.
What's going to be interesting is what a whole new generation will think of metal minis. We've had 20 years since minis were metal, having moved to FailCast, then resin and plastic. How will this new audience take to them, or will they?
In books this week we have the Special Edition of The Hollow King, and the Black Library Celebration 2024 Fan Favourite, Lord Of The Night in paperback. It's also a White Dwarf week, with #498 available on Friday.

++ Glory Be To The First, Unrivalled Progenitors of the Adeptus Astartes, The Emperor's Own, The Fist That Breaks The Foe, The Original Angels of Death, The Dark Angels ++ 
All of that was lead up to an absolutely glorious new Army Box - Deathwing Assault - a box with a number of firsts, fitting for the First Legion. Clad in bone white, the Deathwing are the Dark Angel's veteran Terminators, and in this new Army Box they are led by the brand new Belial, Grand Master of the Deathwing. A true heavy hitter, he is flanked by five brand new Deathwing Knights, a Watcher in the Dark, and a Teleport Beacon. This is the first time you can get your hands on these minis, but they're not the only prize in this set, there's also ten Terminators plus two of the brand new Dark Angels Upgrade Frames. These frames replace a personal favourite kitbash must-have, but they are in the larger scale that Warhammer 40K are going for, plus they include one Watchers in the Dark per frame. The set is also your first chance to get your hands on the 1oth Edition Codex Supplement: Dark Angels (standard 96 pages),  two of the new Dark Angels Transfer Sheets and the new Datasheet Cards: Dark Angels. It's an epic set, and an absolute wet dream for Dark Angels hobbyists and gamers alike.
It's lucky the Dark Angels are here, because the second Warhammer 40,000 Supplement, Crusade: Pariah Nexus, is about to kick off.  Available in both Collectors Edition and Standard Edition, you'll find yourself in the Nephilim Anomaly hunting Necrons (or Necrons slaying Imperium). Filled with background and rules for use in your Crusade games, this book also includes a one-use code to unlock Crusade: Pariah Nexus content in the WH40K App.
The Australia/ New Zealand delayed release of the Tyranid psychic beast, the Psychophage is also this week. It's been a bit of a wait, but here they are!
If your tastes go more towards massed warfare, then Adeptus Titanicus is one way to go, and this week we see the return of the well-loved and prematurely discontinued Titan Legios Transfer Sheets to help customise your God Machines! The transfer sheets are for Legios Solaria, Metalica, Vulpa, Atarus, and Astorum. Speaking of Adeptus Titanicus the Loyalist and Traitor Titan Legions Dice Sets are also back!
In books this week it's the Yarrick: The Omnibus, which collects David Annadale’s run of stories - Imperial Creed, The Pyres of Armageddon, and Chains of Golgotha, plus six short stories - in one impressive paperback.

Alrighty, for everyone playing along at home, this week sees the delayed pre-order of Legions Imperialis in Australia and New Zealand, with the delivery date of 9th of December. We showed this to you last week, but we didn't have links, but we have them now, so here you are! Legions Imperialis launches with the boxed set - ​Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis, which includes both Astartes and Solar Auxilia, You can also get the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis Rulebook separately, plus and the two Legiones Astartes and Solar Auxilia Army Cards sets are also on pre-order too. In terms of miniatures, there's the Legiones Astartes Infantry, and the very cute Kratos Heavy Tank Squadron and a Rhino sets. The release of Legions Imperialis also sees the reboxing of some of the Aeornautica Imperialis minis, with the Thunderhawk Gunship being front row centre for the Astartes. The other faction (either allied or as adversary) are the Solar Auxilia who on release also have their Infantry set, and a box of Baneblades for support, available to buy separately.
There's more Aeronautica Imperialis reboxing, with the Lightning Fighter, Marauder Bomber, Marauder Destroyer, plus some Forge World resin minis, the Marauder Colossus and Marauder Pathfinder, plus the Arvus Lighters on pre-order. Despite the Codex for the Necrons, plus some great Necron minis. plus the Codex for the Adeptus Mechanicus being listed as being on pre-order this weekend, they are missing in action! But we do have these....
The excellent Necromunda terrain sets continue with the Ash Wastes Outpost, bringing together some older pieces and some new, these are a departure from the traditional walls of the Hive City and a reflection of what's going on outside in the Ash Wastes of Necromunda. Speaking of Necromunda, there's two Forge World kits this week, with the awesome looking Asun'ghar, The Lady Of Ash and the super chunky Ironhead Squat Prospectors Skalvian Explorator. We really wish both had been in plastic!
There's a new Kill Team card pack with the Kill Team: Approved Ops – Tac Ops & Mission set giving you the ability to combine three mission types with nine standard killzone maps, or 10 Close Quarters maps – plus 27 Tac Ops cards, covering every archetype, and two alternate Tac Ops cards for Close Quarters games.
In books this week there's Warboss in paperback and the Titanicus omnibus, God-Machines in paperback.

This has become the longest pre-order update yet, almost surely! So, without further ado, here are the main pre-orders this week for everywhere except the European Union, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

​Not everyone loves Necrons, and frankly ancient metallic warriors are hard to love - they certainly don't like hugs - but here they are, all ready for Warhammer 40K 10th Edition. Hot off the presses is their new Codex, which comes in Spit and Polish Collector’s Edition or Malign Force of Evil Standard Edition. The Necrons also get some lovely new miniatures, with a brand new Imotekh the Stormlord, ​Orikan the Diviner and an Overlord with Translocation Shroud. Plus there's two of the best Necron minis to be released since Day Zero, with the Overlord with Tachyon Arrow and Royal Warden, available in the 9th Edition Starter Set, now here to buy separately. Speaking of which, the bulk of the Necron forces. from that set are also now available in the Combat Patrol: Necrons. As you'd expect, there's also the Datasheet Cards for the Necrons (with pretty green foil edges) and a themed Necrons Dice Set.
On the other side of the machine equation, the Adeptus Mechanicus (beep-boop) are also rolling out their 10th Edition Codex, which is available in either Robes Are So This Year Collectors Edition or Mechanoid Radioactive Army Standard Edition. While the Necrons got a selection of stellar minis, the Adeptus Mechanicus got an absolute stinker. Fresh from the We Have No More Ideas Factory, is the Sydonian Skratos - comically absurd, totally undynamic and ridiculous. However, fear not disciples, the new Combat Patrol: Adeptus Mechanicus at least gives you some nice minis to paint up so you can ignore this other one. Happily, the new Adeptus Mechanicus Datasheet Cards are very nice, and come with red foil edges to the cards, plus there's a set of Adeptus Mechanicus Dice.
When will we see these in other parts of the world? Not sure. Suffice to say that we, the customer, will be the very last to know, thank you Games Workshop!

It's here! After many years (decades) of waiting, the Seraphon range update begins. Over the years the Seraphon range has had excellent additions to the ranks in the forms of Lord Kroak, the Carnosaur and friends, but the basic line infantry have been looking old and tried - but no more!! This week sees the release of the Seraphon Army Set which includes a Slann Starmaster, 10 Saurus Warriors and 10 of the Raptadon Hunters/ Raptadon Chargers combi- kit. Bit of a disappointing set in having two of the same set and missing out on the other new kits from the updated Seraphon range. Like the other army sets, this also comes with the special Battletome: Seraphon (Slippery Sucker Launch Edition) with an exclusive variant soft-touch cover, gold foil blocking, gold gilt page edges, and a teal ribbon page marker, the Warscroll Cards, Enhancement Cards, and the Seraphon Token Sheets. 
 Also this weekend the new Adeptus Titanicus: Campaign Compendium is out which brings together the Titandeath, Doom of Molech, Shadow and Iron, The Defence of Ryza, and Crucible of Retribution supplements in one volume. Interestingly the video for this week talks about some cards being rereleased for Adeptus Titanicus (see below) but they don't seem to be listed... 

Kill Team is at it again, resurrecting a fan-favourite and bringing them to fight games of skirmish. Kill Team: Shadowvaults brings back the elite Imperial Guard, the Kasrkin (or as I always called them, Karsickens), with brand new sculpts giving you not only line infantry, but also the Specialists needed for Kill Team. Disappointingly, their adversary the Necrons only get an upgrade sprue (see below) to some existing minis which seems like a real missed opportunity to see some really niche minis for Kill Team. The launch of Kill Team: Shadowvaults next week also sees the release of Kill Team dice for both the Kasrkin and the Necrons, plus the Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Playing Cards that provide cards for combat in a Space Hulk.
Fan of combat on a smaller but grander scale? Well the brand new Matched Play Guide is out for Adeptus Titanicus, which continues to be very hot property for Games Workshop, both with competitive gamers and hobbyists who really want to get deeply into fluff.
It's been a while since GW updated their range of hobby tools, and it looks like they've gone back to making things weird... have a look at the new Citadel Tools: Knife - that does not look comfortable. On the flip side though, the more traditional Super Fine Detail Cutters and what looks like quite an innovative Drill with a little turntable on the top to rest in the palm of your hand - could be worth a try! Meanwhile the tool that does the things a knife does, except cut, the Mouldline Remover gets a more ergonomic handle.
It's been at least a week since we had a dump of old Lord of the Rings models, so here we go... Boromir on horsey-neigh-neigh, Elendil & Isildur (Rings of Power tie-in anyone?) and the Blackroot Vale Commanders. Also this week we have some of what we believe are the best LoTR models released, the thematic Haradrim King, an all-time favourite the Mahûd King (two amazing models), the Mahûd Warrior Warband and the Mahúd Raiders.
Books, there are many this week, including the beautifully presented War of the Fang Special Edition, Kasrkin in hardback, a really interesting sounding one - Void King in hardback, Warhammer Horror's Briardark in paperback and The Twice-dead King: Reign in paperback.
Oh, and it's a White Dwarf week...

It's been an interesting adventure, but it had to end! That's right, the final expansion for Blackstone Fortress is on pre-order this week, with Blackstone Fortress: Ascension introducing of hostile Guardian Drones into the mix. This price-point on this is pretty high, getting up into the special character realm. As with life, there is a book - Blackstone Fortress: Ascension Special Edition and Hardback, plus the audio drama Augur of Despair set inside the Blackstone Fortress itself.
There's also a pretty cool Adeptus Titanicus release this week from Forge World, the Warhound Titan Ursus Claw/Natrix Shock Lance combi-kit. The Ursus Claws aren't as they are described in the book (more like a huge harpoon with a chain) but cool for fans of running groups of predatory Warhounds.

The mighty mini minis are back with some new releases for Adeptus Titanicus all centred around your favourite orange plasma-lovers, Ryza!
 The latest expansion to Adeptus Titanicus The Defence of Ryza which promises not only the story of the  Defence of Ryza, Legion-specific rules for six Titan Legions (Honorum, Osedax, Crucius, Magna, Vulturum and Mortis), and six Knight Houses (Sidus, Taranis, Zavora, Morbidia, Ioeden and Oroborn), but also official rules for creating your own Titan Legions, something fans have been trying to navigate around for some time. The new book also sees a new version of the Cerastus Knights, with the Acheron & Castigator box bringing more weapons options to the party. With new rules and minis come the The Defence of Ryza Stratagem Cards, which knowing Games Workshop they will discontinue next week! Away from Adeptus Titanicus for a moment, last week we didn't get the Runelord Brass spray for the Necrons, so here it is this week.
​In books this week, it's the Profit's Ruin paperback version for fans of the Kharadron Overlords.

Necromunda continues to impress the Community, and not just the Necromunda players, but also hobbyists from across the Warhammer Universes - especially for the Blanchitsu and INQ28​ converters out there - with a range of interesting miniatures that delve deeper into the lore than the more traditional WH40K range. Taking the old-school Ambull and turning it into a robot to produce the Luther Pattern Excavation Automata "Ambot", has been greeted with excited squeals as there are very few automata in plastic form in this universe. For the price, these are a must-have! Also in Necromunda this week, are the Necromunda 40mm Bases - only 5 in the pack, but also a very good price! When Speed Freaks was released we were told that there were two vehicles in there that were exclusive to that set - so here they are now separately, the Kustom Boosta-blasta and the Shokkjump Dragsta. Lacking the weapons options of the other kits, these are still pretty cool.
Despite not being stocked in most GW stores, Adeptus Titanicus has been a big hit, especially in the powerful Horus Heresy Community! With the ever expanding range, GW have now released the new weapon sprues seen on some of the later Titans releases to further customise your force. For the Warlord we have the Volcano Cannons and Apocalypse Missile Launchers and for the Reavers, the Melta Cannon, Chainfist, Volcano Cannon and Turbo Laser and the classic Gatling Blaster, Power Fist, Laser Blaster and Apocalypse Missile Launcher. Also next week the next in the series of decals, this time for the Traitors, Legio Fureans.
Next week also sees some Made To Order Skaven - only a week or two late - with the classic Thanquol with Boneripper, Grey Seer, the super-cool ​Ikit Claw, Queek Headtaker, and Deathmaster Snikch only available for the next week.

The Legio Ballista forces have been a very slow build - in fact starting back in the Epic days. More recently with the plastic Skitarii units - including the Kastelan - Legio Ballista had more of a flesh out, and not with the advent of Adeptus Titanicus, it's a chance to get some more Titans from the Legio on the battlefield.
What's interesting is to compare these new models to the older Epic scale models and see mow much bigger the Titans are! Strangely the vehicles are now to scale because in Epic they certainly weren't!
The level of detail on the plastic Adeptus Titanicus kits is excellent, with the Warhound being great fun to build with a brilliant result, but the Reaver is more fiddly - especially the leg armour and was really more of a pain to build than anything! Not in a rush to do more Reavers, but the Warhounds are the gift that keeps on giving.

It's been over a year in the making and after a hiatus of some decades. the Titan Orders can walk the field of battle in their full glory, banners unfurled with majesty and terrifying power. This is not a time for man, but one of machine!
Now with that being said, prepare to cough up because although this is a glorious addition to the Horus Heresy range (where are my plastic MKII Space Marines, GW?), there is a price. First up is the Adeptus Titanicus: Grand Master Edition, which is basically everything so far for $500AUD or just under $300 US. This is a limited edition and actually very good value as a bundle, but everything in it you can get separately - like the Warlord Battle Titan, who in and of itself is almost half the price of the Grand Master Edition. There's also the Adeptus Titanicus Imperial Knights, who come in a set of three for a pretty fair price. There is of course terrain with the Civitas Imperialis Sector and Civitas Imperialis representing the cities abut to be crushed by these engines of war. The Adeptus Titanicus: The Horus Heresy Rules Set can also be bought separately and includes small battlefield minis and, very weirdly,  the transfers for the miniatures...! There is of course the Warlord Battle Titan Weapon Card Pack to supplement the weapons options in the rules, plus webstore exclusive Warlord Battle Titan Command Terminal Packs and Axiom Battleline Maniple Command Terminal Packs. Now if you are one of the first 1000 people to order the Adeptus Titanicus: Grand Master Edition online, you will also receive an Adeptus Titanicus Collector's Coin.
Away from the tiny tiny glory of the Adeptus Titanicus are three dragons of old Made To Order miniatures - the classic Prince Imrik and Malekith the Witch King of Naggaroth models and a really cool one I hadn't seen before, The Sisters of Twilight on Ceithin-Har.
In books we have the paperback of Titanicus by Dan Abnett, the Servants of the Machine God anthology which includes a tonne of short stories centred around the Mechanicus, there's also two Age of $igmar books with the massive The Realmgate Wars: Volume 1 anthology and the Tainted Heart hardcover. There's also a very cool Horus Heresy novel out too; Garro - this is actually the full novelisation of Nathaniel Garro's story arc - both audio dramas and novella - plus new and extended scenes and new chapters. This seems like a must have for Horus Heresy fans!

White Dwarf have a number of nuggets this month for fans of the soon-to-be-released Adeptus Titanicus. First supposed to appear in White Dwarf almost a year ago - even still appearing in the index to that issue - we get a good look, plus some words from the designers.
​Adeptus Titanicus is a battle on a whole new scale - literally. With a standard Warhammer 40k Imperial Knight being around the same size as the epic (no pun intended) Warlord Titan, you can see how this scale will play out.
The first miniatures released will be afore-mentioned Warlord Titan and the mini Imperial Knights. This issue also reveals the upcoming Reaver Titan model which, like the others war machines, are much smaller versions of the Games Workshop or Forge World kits.

The issue is full of colour illustrations and pictures of many of the famous Legio - including the War Griffons who featured so prominently in the early drawings by Jes Goodwin 30 years ago. You can also see in the pics above the amount of detail they have squeezed into the Imperial Knights, especially for their size. Is it too much though? There's also this (and other) great shots of the Reaver. I think this will be the big favourite until the Warhounds come out - those I am ready for!! We also get a look at the decal sheets, which are full of the original Legio Titan designations and some old school pre-heresy aquila as well as other markings. There's also an Imperial Knight one which must be very small indeed! Interestingly, the Warlord Titan has knee, ankle & neck articulation, alternate heads and a selection of armour plates that attach to the skeleton.

​Not only do we get a look at the limited edition Grand Master Edition - with 2 Warlords, 6 Knights, buildings plus the rule book and the accessories you'll need to play. The main game will then only be available as the Rule Set (which is basically the other set minus the minis apart from some macro cannons and missile silos) and then you buy the minis on their own. There's also Command Terminal and Weapon Card packs. The miniatures themselves are available separately. It looks like you can get the Warlord Titan on their own and the Imperial Knights come in a set of three. There's also two sets of Imperial buildings.

Like the original Adeptus Titanicus, there is quite a bit of paper in the Rule Set, plus some area affect templates. The buildings themselves look nice and are fully modular, so instead of the low rise we see here, you can make towers too! This issue also gives us the first look at a breakdown of the Titan Command Terminal which has all the stats and abilities of your titan on it.

Overall it's a fun little introduction. Some of the paint jobs on the Knights are a bit messy which leads us to think that the minis are so packed with detail it's easy to obscure it with paint due to their size. We shall see.
