Greetings and Seasonal Salutations Fellow Travellers! Apologies for the lateness of this review. Usually we get this up first thing Saturday morning (AUST time) to give you a look inside White Dwarf for the week and work out if your hard-earned should be shelled out or if you should save up for the next big release. Well this week seasons obligations get in the way - but for posterity here's a belated look inside White Dwarf #48. Now you'd think that with this being the highest spending time of the year Games Workshop would go out with a bang. One exciting release for people to grab onto and potentially shell out all their cash on - gift vouchers, cash from Nan, your siblings pocket money you stole from their piggy bank. You'd think that., right? Oh how wrong you'd be... it's flashback time! - + + More After The Jump + + |

Ex Manus aren't technically "new", in 2013 they ran a successful Indiegogo campaign to launch Ex Manus Studios, but they are a fledgling operation based in Australia with some cute sculpts and hopefully a bright future, so why not take a look! They first caught my eye at SMASH Con in August 2014 with a selection of miniatures and some really nice prototypes to whet the appetite, so I bought one to test the quality and sculpting. There's something refreshing about a sculptor who actually sculpts 1 to 1 and not 2-up or 3-up and this instantly appealed. The look of some of the models obviously has some basis in pop culture, which is pretty cool, especially if you would like that character in your gaming universe. + + + More After The Jump + + +
I was saying recently how disappointing there wasn't more to do with the Successor Chapters in the Sons of Sanguinius Blood Angels Painting Guide. It would seem pretty logical - but alas. BUT it seems there was some more information in the Blood Angels Codex. So for your viewing pleasure, here are the Successor Chapters (minus the Lamenters)! Having taken 40 pics - my camera then broke - so these pictures are courtesy of my scratched HTC M8 Victoria Miniatures have a tonne of new bitz out this week!! As I've said before - Victoria Miniatures make some really superior product, so anything new from them is always a delight! First up is the Van Diemen's World Devils Universal 5 Man Squad, heavily based on the Australian and Commonwealth troops fighting in the jungles during WWII and the very cool Highland Moss Guard Universal 5 Man Squad. Both sport the brand new Universal Rolled Sleeve Rifle Arms (male) which I personally have been waiting ages for and do not disappoint! But that's not all - there are also some great accessories for your troops too; the Trench Raider Torsos, Winter Torsos (for fans of Valhallan Imperial Guard) and finally Bread bags which make excellent large pouches! Victoria Miniatures have come SO far in the last 12-18 months that they now have fully fleshed out military units plus lots of flexibility to make your own.
If you're into Imperial Guard especially and you haven't bought anything from Victoria Miniatures (I know this sounds like an ad but it's not) then you are missing out! Go have a look!! Oh.. and while you're there... THIS!!! If you've been following the Hero Forge Minis story, their custom miniature website is now online.
The engine for designing the miniatures is very flexible and quite fast. You start out by picking the race/ gender of your miniature, then you can choose the head, expressions, equipment and poses - you really have to see it to believe it. It's great fun! This is my miniature below which I have ordered (and paid for thank you) and hope to have soon to write up for here. There are different sizes and detail qualities available at check out, including a statue size! Painting quality examples will cost you $25 with standard postage at $5, but International is $15. Go and have a look - it's good fun even if you don't buy it - kind of like the Skyrim character designer except it will be posted to you and you can paint it!
There has been some real excitement over the last 48 hours or so about the prospect of a WH40K version of WHFB The End Times. The End Times has been a huge boom for Warhammer, seeing the brand hit some of their highest sales in recent years! SO when Graham McNeill's statements at the recent Black Library Weekender were retold - some of it was lost in translation.
But the man himself has come out on his blog to set it all the rights. So is WH40k End Times happening?
So what do you think? Are you going to pick these up? Is this an okay size for you when it comes to a Codex? And what about those pictures - or are Beardys just getting blinder?
