So - after two and a half years this weekly update is at an end. White Dwarf Weekly is, as of this issue, over! We are told that in September there will be a bigger and better White Dwarf targetted at the hobbyist - less Sales driven and more 'stuff to do'. Sounds good, but it also sounds a lot like what they said Warhammer Visions would be and look how that turned out (insert sad face). Still, we can keep our hopes up and look forward to the 156 page White Dwarf come September 1, but for now it's onto the final White Dwarf Weekly - this week pretty much filling one of the final gaps in the Age of $igmar transformation of the Warhammer world, bringing the Ogres on board. The Ogres are now divided into different groups; the Beastclaw Raiders, Firebellies, Gutbusters, and Maneaters. I don't get the stupid names - why not call them what they call themselves instead of silly names you would expect from a J.K. Rowling book. I just don't get it!! So - is this final issue worth buying? ++ More After The Jump ++ |

This isn't the first Volkite weapon in the War Hounds force, the Tactical Support unit have them, and where there's an option in the rules, you will find them in abundance.
For the Volkite Culverin, I've used the same scheme as on the others; dark metal with flashes of bronze and gold for the power pack (at least that's what I assume that is). I went a little off the restricted palette with the piping so might revisit that, but I did use a different technique with the shoulder trim that I think came out nicely. The base is Balthazar Gold, then an Agrax Earthshade wash, then I used the new Fulgurite Copper for the highlight and rivets. What do you think? Kind of happy with it. Being the first of his unit, this guy is also sporting the Heavy Support icon on his shoulder which really makes the model I think! Simple and striking. So head over to Master Crafted Miniatures Facebook, Like it & we can all get some awesome savings! They're big teases at Master Crafted - have a look at these awesome torsos from the new releases (above)
We all have our fanboy/ fangirl moments - but this video that Games Workshop put up on their Age of $igmar Facebook page is so cool in that it captures that moment - infectiously!
It is all of us, at some point, but with WAY cooler hair. I'm legitimately jealous of this guy's hair!
