Well well well - this issue came out of nowhere and hit us between the eyes with so many new releases it crashed the Games Workshop webstore and made all the new releases for next week become temporarily out of stock. Who would think a bunch of tree people would be so damn popular, but you have to admit - these new Sylvaneth miniatures are pretty amazing. As has been the way with these new Age of $igmar releases for Warhammer, there is a character with a massive mount - this time a rather unhappy looking beetle, which leads into battle an army of spirit-infused tree men. The original Treelord model, released a few years ago is a great miniature and to have smaller versions of that in the form of the Kurnoth Hunters is pretty cool. But it's not just the Sylvaneth, there are also new dice, a new piece of Chaos scenery, and what looks like the culmination of the recent Realmgate Wars novels as Sigmar's forces attempt to capture the key to travelling between the disparate realms. As I said - a bumper week! ++ More After The Jump ++ |

As well as the formidable mount, there is also Branchwych, the fearsome leader of the Tree-Revenants.
Games Workshop have really hit the dynamic poses out of the park again with this model. It could have been really static and boring, but the twisted gnarled look to it is not only similar to the older Dryad and Treelord model, but also adds to them faithfully.
Even if you only make one of the kits, there's some cool bits in there left over for some Elven conversions.
