NOT Failcast Review - Space Wolf Champion Arjac Rockfist

With the release of the latest incarnation of the Space Wolves it seems timely to bring you a review of NOT Failacst's version of Logan Grimnar's personal champion, Arjac Rockfist. Having impressed the Great Wolf with his prodigious strength, heroic deeds, fortitude and armed with his trusty weapons Foehammer and the Anvil Shield, Arjac Rockfist as earned his place in Grimnar's Wolf Guard a dozen times over.
Thinking of adding him to your Space Wolf force or have a wicked conversion idea? NOT Failcast might be the way to go!
You may have seen our reviews of NOT Failcast's figures before as they have such a huge range of miniatures on offer.
So, how does the much cheaper version of Arjac Rockfist stack up and will he be the addition to your army you're after?

A few weeks back I got a sizeable order from NOT Failcast to have a look at a wide variety of their stock. NOT Failcast have to be one of the larger recasters out there, and as recasting becomes more and more popular, it's important that we keep on top of what's out there.
Today I've got the Legion MKIII Despoiler Squad in all it's glory!

NOT FailCast Clear Tau Stealth Suits Review

I'm going to fess up - I'm a big fan of the Tau!
So where's the section about Tau on the site? Well, to be honest, I suck at painting them! I can't find a colour scheme I like (nothing as good as these anyway!) and I have trouble getting my head into the Tau universe.
Hell knows why - I agree with their philosophy.
BUT thankfully I can at least have some Tau units that I don't need to significantly paint - the NOT Failcast Clear Tau Stealth Suits!
I first saw these months back and due to their popularity they are hard to find in stock! But here we have them, Stealth Suits the way they are meant to be - stealthy!
So how do they stack up?

It's hard to argue that Forge World's release of the Mechanicum line hasn't been a huge success
The Mechanicum have been a long time fan favourite, and to be able to build a Heresy-era Mechanicum army has been exciting for lots of players.
Well today I have for you the brand new NOT FailCast version of the Forge World Mechanicum Myrmidon Destructors - the heavy hitters of the Mechanicum army.
First thing you notice is the size of these guys! I honestly expected Marine-sized, but these guys would dominate any battlefield - more like Chaos Marine Obliterators in mass. So how do good are the NOT FailCast versions?+ + More after the jump + +

Big NOT FailCast Haul - Reviews Incoming!

A week of so back, we had a discussion about NOT Failcast and recasting in general. I've tested their stuff before and found it to be good, so I thought a wider look at what they have might be in order.
I hear lots of people using recasters in China and as 3D printing increases, the quality of some of the Chinese miniatures seems to be dropping.
So yesterday I received this rather sizeable order (left) of older and newer NOT Fail Cast miniatures so we could get a good sample.

Keep your eyes peeled, because over the next few weeks we'll have an in depth look at some of their miniatures - the quality of the moulds, the quality of the plastic and overall value.

Are NOT Fail cast The New One-Stop Shop For recasters?

With the prices of Games Workshop miniatures continuing to climb - especially if you're in Australia - many people seem to be turning to recasters in Asia to build their armies.
You may have seen our recent tests on NOT Fail Cast miniatures, which were all very nice and it seems NOT Fail Cast are coming on in leaps and bounds, stocking a huge range of products.
So are NOT Fail Cast the new one-stop shop if you buy recast miniatures?
With cheap 3D printers, some people are reporting that the stock from China is low quality - so would you use a regular supplier like NOT Fail Cast?

Not only are they stocking current models from Games Workshop, Forge World, other suppliers, their own miniatures and also plastic/resin copies of older metal figures including their recent release of a Reaver Titan in Epic scale - a miniature not available for many many years!

Recasting seems to be on the rise and I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on recasting and your experiences with the Chinese guys or NOT Fail Cast.

NOT FailCast Preview The Reaver Titan

Yesterday, the folks at NOT Failcast released an image on their Facebook that has Titan fans aflutter - it's a late-80's era Reaver Titan!
In an age where Games Workshop no longer service the Epic Community, I think it's fair game to make your own Epic 40K Titans, and this is a great one to choose.
The Reaver Titan was the backbone of the original Epic game - sure there were bigger and faster, but the Reaver was THE Titan to have in your force.
Forge World have of course produced one and an amazing 40K scale model too, but if you want to see the original - this is it!
The Reaver originally came with 3 weapon arms, the idea is to put one on each side sponson, and one on top of the carapace.
I hope NOT Failcast bring out an Epic 40K Warhound from this era too. That is a great little kit - so expressive, and so mean looking!
Pretty please?
With rumours of the return of Epic this year though, who knows if this will get to production, but one can only hope.
In honour of this news I dug out my old Reaver Titan I painted in the 90s. Memories!

Here's a 20-something year old paint job for you from my Legio Ballista force.
Look how steady my hands were back then - all those icons were done freehand...

Not FailCast Release The Web Exclusive Marine Captain...

Not Fail Cast have just put up their version of the Web Exclusive Space Marine Captain. Well it was supposed to be web exclusive, but ended up in stores much to the annoyance of those who used the GW web store to get it.
On first impressions this looks a bit blobby, but my last experience with them was really positive so if this is your kind of thing, then why not give it a go...

They also have a range of doors for vehicles and these dudes...

NotFailCast Review - Alternate Eldar & More

Using a recaster isn't something I usually do, generally because I'm worried about quality, but when I saw the cool Eldar/ Dark Eldar models from NotFailCast I just had to give them a go, not because they are good quality versions of GW product, but because the design was exactly the opposite of that - something different!
To be fair, they look incredibly similar to the Protos from Starcraft (right), but they're not GW & could make interesting Tau Auxiliaries!
So while I was there, in the interest of a full and fair review, I also grabbed a Sister of Battle to see what their casting was like. I don't paint Sisters of Battle so it really wouldn't matter - it's disposable.

So - what are NotFailCast like? Is it quality product, or more crappy resin - more after the jump
