With the release of the latest incarnation of the Space Wolves it seems timely to bring you a review of NOT Failacst's version of Logan Grimnar's personal champion, Arjac Rockfist. Having impressed the Great Wolf with his prodigious strength, heroic deeds, fortitude and armed with his trusty weapons Foehammer and the Anvil Shield, Arjac Rockfist as earned his place in Grimnar's Wolf Guard a dozen times over. Thinking of adding him to your Space Wolf force or have a wicked conversion idea? NOT Failcast might be the way to go! You may have seen our reviews of NOT Failcast's figures before as they have such a huge range of miniatures on offer. So, how does the much cheaper version of Arjac Rockfist stack up and will he be the addition to your army you're after? + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below. |
The plastic is also solid and not at all brittle. I was worried about the hammer especially, but it's solid and strong - but not all is good when it comes to this mini, unfortunately!
All the details are beautifully reproduced and very crisp.
On closer inspection it's actually okay and he does have a nose!
I found it scrapped off well and had no lasting effect on the model.
There's bits of very thin flashing, but that can be brushed off so easily. Even the head of the hammer is perfectly reproduced!
Verdict
As far as detail goes, it's amazingly done. Some of the best detail I have seen around that isn't brittle. And I think that's the key with NOT Failcast - they don't do brittle!
As I said earlier, this is the first miniature I've had any issues with from NOT Failcast, so maybe it's a blip and unusual, it's hard to say really.
So - at the end of the day it comes down to brass tax - the cash!
Games Workshop's Arjac Rockfist is $40 (AUS) and NOT Failcast's is $19 (AUS).
