It's hard to argue that Forge World's release of the Mechanicum line hasn't been a huge success The Mechanicum have been a long time fan favourite, and to be able to build a Heresy-era Mechanicum army has been exciting for lots of players. Well today I have for you the brand new NOT FailCast version of the Forge World Mechanicum Myrmidon Destructors - the heavy hitters of the Mechanicum army. First thing you notice is the size of these guys! I honestly expected Marine-sized, but these guys would dominate any battlefield - more like Chaos Marine Obliterators in mass. So how do good are the NOT FailCast versions?+ + More after the jump + + |

Weapons
The alternate arm is not unlike a Servitor-style arm.
All the detail is very crisp and clean. There is little or no flash. I found a toothbrush rubbed all over the bits takes it off really easily as it's very thin.
Miniatures
Have a look at the detail of skull inside it's chest - this is good stuff!
You'll notice that the cape is a little thin on the edge on the picture below - there are a few places this has happened but the detail is strong and not breakable!
His powerplant is more prominent than the rest as he's hunched over more and the level of detail inside and around it is very crisp! It will be great fun to paint!
Assembled Myrmidon Destructor - Pew-pew!!
His stance is dynamic and dominant with his powerplant looming high above his head.
Details
The plastic/ resin is different from Forge World, but hold detail well and glues very easily. There are no repeats of the incidents like Anvil Industries or the Spartan Games fiasco!
Conclusion
As I said above, the plastic/ resin on these is crisp and clean, it holds detail and doesn't feel brittle - a common complaint I hear about some Chinese recasters.
It's obvious the NOT FailCast guys have put a fair bit of work into bringing these to us and have done a very good job!
