There has been some real excitement over the last 48 hours or so about the prospect of a WH40K version of WHFB The End Times. The End Times has been a huge boom for Warhammer, seeing the brand hit some of their highest sales in recent years! SO when Graham McNeill's statements at the recent Black Library Weekender were retold - some of it was lost in translation.
But the man himself has come out on his blog to set it all the rights. So is WH40k End Times happening?

This all came about after a conversation I had at the BL Weekender III, where I talked about things I’d LIKE to do in the next Ultramarines trilogy (not necessarily GETTING to do, but which I’d LIKE to do). One of the things I said was that I thought it’d be fun to bring Guilliman back, “probably not in a literal way, but in some form or another, and that such an event would, naturally, have further ramifications for the Chapter…”. I also said that I’d floated a bunch of ideas past the guys at editorial and had received a cautious, “That sounds pretty cool,” response.
And that’s it. That’s as far as any “progress” on this has gone.
So, get those panties unbunched, those knickers untwisted. Keep Calm and Keep Playing 40K.
So the answer - unfortunately is "no"... at least according to McNeill!
Does that mean that GW would do it without Black Library?
Is this GW testing the waters to see how the fan base respond?
Personally I think it's a brilliant idea and perfectly timed for the supposed Dark Angels relaunch early next year - who better than those whose loyalty is so shrouded in mystery...
From GW's perspective it would also take some of the attention away from the Horus Heresy Forge World Universe and get people back to the mythos in the current timeline, which you;'d have to say is somewhat stagnant in comparison. Just a thought!
