With no miniature release this week, White Dwarf must have found themselves in a peculiar quandary; do they do a whole issue on Age of $igmar beasts to coincide with Realmgate Wars: Godbeasts, or do they throw caution to the wind and do some half decent articles that don't rely on you buying anything? Thankfully they went wit the latter. (I can't tell you how many times I mistyped and wrote Godbreasts! Obviously possessed by Slaanesh... AGAIN!) This issue actually has a little of something for everyone. There's the Ao$ book, rules for using Astra Militarum in the Deathwatch Overkill game, a lengthy article on Paul Rudge's Death Guard army (who also appear in this week's Warhammer Visions), Paint Splatter for beginners and a look at another Nurgle-themed army, this time for Warhammer Age of $igmar. So the big question is, does it hit any of these marks? For a look inside, read on after the jump! |
It's actually quite a neat story line and is kind of reminiscent of a Saturday morning cartoon plot. Pretty sure Megatron, Cobra Commander and Mumra all tried this one on for size at some point or another.
There's also two new Artificer brushes, the 'M' and 'S' - but at $40 AUD each, am avoiding like the plague!
Well think of the continent of Africa and take off Somalia - about that big!
But seriously, tanks, lots of troops, a flyer, some Battle Automata and Knights - did I mention there were half a dozen Imperial Knights!? It's a really nice looking army, so well worth checking out.... which you can also do in Warhammer Visions this week!
This article is a good read. He speaks well and pretty sure every hobbyist would be able to identify.
Verdict
It's a pleasant Saturday read with some nice pictures to look at.
