We've been a bit quiet this week due to various work commitment, but the weekend is here (still working mind you) and it's White Dwarf Day! Games Workshop are interesting; they have led from the front for some time, generally imitated but rarely on par. Then, every now and then, something comes along that forces them to change direction somewhat - and I think X-Wing was one of those things. A highly popular game that kind of came out of the blue and took the tabletop gaming community (and the Star Wars community) by storm. To be fair, there are elements of Battlefleet Gothic in X-Wing, so it's swings and roundabouts, BUT this kind of fighter ace vs. fighter ace is really what X-Wing is all about so it's interesting to see what GW do with their miniatures in a similar vein. This issue isn't, thankfully, a single release issue of White Dwarf - there are a few other features, including an awesome Dark Eldar force that are beautifully done, but is it worth getting this issue? ++ More After The Jump ++ |
Warhammer Visions also gets a look in here - being on it's last legs and all.
D6 tables really don't do anything for me, surely this could be hotted up a tad!
Verdict
It was over pretty quickly.
