As we see the Chaos 2019 releases end, it made us ponder what could have been. In reality the forces of Chaos Undivided - that is the forces that aren't covered in feathers or tentacles or rot or skulls - have not had an update for a very long time. The individual powers have, but not pure Chaos - the renegades from the False Emperor. This release has been great, some very nice miniatures, but not many compared to Age of $igmar releases or even the Primaris Space Marines. So what could have been? We first saw signs of what could have been in the Blackstone Fortress boxed set (below). This included the Chaos Space Marines design we now see rolled out across these new releases, but it also included other elements of Chaos that the Community have been after for a VERY long time. |
There are other things we could have seen - a non-Raptor hand-to-hand Chaos Marine option, corrupted Ogryn, Chaos Commissars, even vehicles like a tank or a new flyer, and what about the models from Shadowspear - Obliterators, the Master of Possession, the Venomcrawler and updated Greater Possessed?
It just seems this release could have been bigger - especially for the importance of Chaos to the whole Warhammer 40K universe. There's so many things untouched and to stop here seems like a real shame.

Did you want to see more? What did you want to see?
And while we're spit-balling, lets have a look at those awesome miniatures we did get in this release and just hope that very soon we can see the shopping list above come true.
