 | The Dreamforge Leviathan is a truly epic miniature - in fact the term "miniature" may be incorrect considering it's size! It's an 8.5 inch tall monster, fully articulated and customisable thanks to a variety of weapons recently released by Dreamforge. Two of the stand-out weapons in the current accessory line are the H.E.L Cannon and the Nova Cannon. I recently ordered both to give them a go and below you will find the unboxing and construction of the H.E.L Cannon. Overall I like the massive gatling gun that the Leviathan comes with - but these are both so cool! |
The Dreamforge H.E.L Cannon comes on 3 sprues plus upper arm armour so you can make the weapon for either the left or right arm.
This is again a beautiful mould by Wargames Factory, very crips and solid. Good thick plastic - possibly too thinck when it comes to the connection between sprue and model piece...
Here are the sprues laid out - you can get an idea of the scale of the weapon by the amount of room the barrel alone takes up.
Those extra arm armour come in the small plastic bag above.
The weapon housing/ rear section of the H.E.L Cannon is the same as the Nova Cannon, so if you could slide the front of them out, you could technically use the same weapon housing/ rear section for both.

Here is the internal connection where the barrel slides into the weapon housing - i'm thinking of magnetising this actually so it could be slid out.
The construction was very straight forward and once cleaned up should look great.

Here is the size of it. It's quite large - and i even left the very back section off in this shot!
It will be interesting painting such large surfaces to scale with the other Dreamforge miniatures.
The H.E.L Cannon is a nice kit.
It took about 1/2 and hour to clean and another to put together, so once cleaned up it's a good way to have a quick weapon swap for the mighty Leviathan still in progress..
I will say there is an ugly join line between the two halves on the end of the barrel, so I hope that cleans up okay. That could have been fixed with a nice capped piece, but alas.
There isn't need for tonnes of glue - trust me, I made that error - as the parts fit together really really well.
If you have a Leviathan, this is a must!
It's long and cool and if you want something you can detail and superdetail there is a lot of room on this to do it.
For me, this is gold - highly recommended!
