They are cruel, violent, calculating and (let's face it) sexy as! Yes, this is the ultimate bad guy/ bad girl fantasy!
Well today Games Workshop put them up on their website for pre-order which gave us all a closer look - and what a look it is.
Unfortunately it's at times awesome and at times... well pretty average!
Who doesn't love a dark elf or two?
My first experience of Dark Elves was these guys (right) back in the late 1980s. Then thankfully plastic came along and I got the Warhammer Fantasy Regiments boxed set which had some Dark Elf crossbowmen in it. I was sold! In fact I painted the Elves up as Dark Elves too! |

Onto the New Gw Releases for 2013
First - the awesome! These weren't the miniatuires that first caught my site, but nothing shows the awesomeness of this range than these Sisters of Slaughter. I mean look at the action poses - the fluidity of movement and the cool masks! This is a great set! And have a look at the sprues. Lots of little bits to convert and change to pose. It's a modifier's paradise and will work well with the Dark Eldar Wytches! | ... now the not so good stuff... Now this is where it all goes wrong! You may remember the static boring poses from the previous Dark Elf spearmen - pity they didn't take the opportunity to redress that, because these guys are just as static. And that's not the worst of it! Yes, my friends, THIS is the worst of it. Have a look at this sprue. The heads are attached to the bodies! Who does that? It's 2013! This is just cheap and nasty and poor form for $45 AUS... |
The question i'd like to know is how much Jes Goodwin (GW sculptor) had to do with these?
The Dark Elves are back, and more nautical than ever.
