The Space Marines are not the only protectors of Imperial Might in the Warhammer 40K universe, there is of course the Inquisition who, in time of need call on the Adeptus Arbites to kick some heads - in an official capacity. The Adeptus Arbites are the Judge, Jury and Executioners of the Imperium of Man, but their not police - fans of Necromunda will know there's the Enforcers for that = the Adeptus Arbites enforce laws for the wider Imperium, even if that is detrimental to a Planetary Governor or an Inquisitor they have been attached to. I'm not entirely sure why these guys popped into my head the other day (the picture to the left must have had something to do with it), but since then I have watched both Judge Dredd movies ("I AM the Law!!") and raided my bitz box to find what I need to try and build one. What did strike me though was how perfect the Tempestus Militarum arms are for an Arbitrator - the extra armour, the cool shoulders - it's all there once you add a few more bitz! More after the jump... |
The head, however, was a disaster.
After 2 hours of trimming and moulding a Cadian helmet, my Adeptus Arbites looked more like a koala than a sanctioned enforcer of Imperial law!
So here's where I'm up to for now on this very WIP project...
Should we give the Inquisition some muscle back?
Should the Adeptus Arbites roam the streets of every Hive World and wayward planet imparting Imperial Law on the populace?
The old figures are pretty stocky, but maybe a relaunch could see these guys really come to the fore - hell they would look radical in a Taurox... something has to!
