This has been bugging me since I made my first Spartan kit - their resin really doesn't glue very well! I'm not sure what it is, and I have even tried different super glues - Zap-a-Gap (Green and Pink) and the Citadel one - and it's still a bugger to glue. For some reason it just doesn't seem to bond as well as other resin I have used - and it's not just me. |
Not only doesn't it bond that well, it seems to lack some detail compared to other companies.
If you compare their edges for example, they are all rounded. Forgeworld and even Finecast are crisp (too crisp and thin sometimes) and clean.
Is it the resin or is ti the moulding?
It's just a shame that vehicles that of such a large scale aren't more detailed - especially their Firestorm Armada stuff.
And when it comes to mould lines and casting - it's not the best! Just compare it to Victoria Miniatures for example and you'll see the stark difference.
I just started a Dystopian Legions Teutonic Knight today, and I have to say for a figure well over 30mm, it could be better; heavy mould lines, light detail - hell the white metal parts have more detail!
Come on Spartan - get your act together and make better resin, or look at your moulds!
We're all waiting on Planetfall, so please fix it before then!
