Kingdom Death are a Collector's Grade studio who produce awesome minis! The specialise in really finely detailed resin of some wonderful and macabre pieces. I have previously bought the Kings Hand model - a truly beautiful piece, extremely finely detailed... almost to nice to paint! With the success of that model, I had no issue ordering the Storm Knight mini from Kingdom Death - I mean look at the picture (left) - awesome! |
A toothless survivor tells the story of the knight in the center of the clouds. It was a beautiful sight, obscured by jets of steam and water issuing from ornate faces in its armor. A bitter, metal taste in the storming air. A bolt of light struck him, twisting his body and knocking the teeth from his clenched jaw. The Collector's Number - as you can see, this is the "First Run Collector's Edition" version There is also a postcard for each mini ordered... my mini will not look this good. How do you paint steam? A closer view (by a better photographer thankfully) of the Storm Knight. You can see here how the steam plumes and lightning bolts are supposed to be placed. Some really beautiful intricate work here and a damned good pose. It suits the character! | The contents are nicely packed in two poly bags. You can also see the two cards that come with it - one with the Collectors number on it and the other... is black and stuff...!? As you can see the torso section is very detailed. There are also many holes to put the lightning bolts and steam plumes. The detailed legs and cloak/ steam plume. The hands and head assembly. There's also a lightning bolt sprue and a steam sprue - but it's lightning and steam, how exciting is that to see? |
Verdict
If you do like the look of it - buy one!
You won't be sorry...
Is $25 USD a lot to pay for one mini? Yes! But this kind of quality is sorely rare and if you want it you have to buy it when they are around. He who hesitates is lost!
