| Next week sees more Deathwatch on the horizon - not so much new product, but repacks and conversion opportunities, plus finally available separately, the excellent Deathwatch miniatures from the Overkill Boxed Set. BUT it's the new Deathwatch Upgrade Sprue (right) which comes in all new releases for next week that is the real star! First cab off the rank is Kill Team Cassius, the team we first saw in Deathwatch Overkill. These are great minis, and certainly an awesome starting point for any Deathwatch Kill Team. Next is the Deathwatch Captain, a miniature that has been repacked a number of times and is effectively a good way to get a Deathwatch upgrade sprue. It's pretty much the same deal with the Terminator Captain, but for $30 a better deal! Keep in mind that the sprue does have enough to equip 10 Space Marines!, so like the Deathwatch Bikers, you will have extras left over from the sprue too. For me the vehicles come as a bit of a surprise - the Land Raider Redeemer/ Crusader and Razorback/ Rhino only come with the standard Deathwatch Upgrade sprue, only giving you three icons to decorate with! |  |
So really the star of next week is the Deathwatch Upgrade Sprue with it's 10 Space Marine shoulder pads and 2 Terminator Armour shoulder pads with Deathwatch insignia, a Sergeant chest plate, 2 variant helmets, a power sword, a small backpack icon and 2 large vehicle icons. Nice little sprue, but also interesting there isn't one with more vehicle bits!

Also out next week are two books - one super-cheap and the other YOU MUST OWN!!
Firstly the How to Paint Deathwatch is at the bargain basement price of $17 AUD, which must be about $2.50 US. I guess there really isn't a lot to explain about black, but will be interesting to see what is in this one. The other book is really awesome. This first came out on the week of the 30th Anniversary Space Marine and is the Index Astartes Apocrypha. If you are a fan of the universe, you should own and digest this book. Now availabe in softcover, this is a must own. Trust me, I have recommended it to people and all of them have been super happy with it!
