It's with much sadness that I report to you about the closing down of a great miniatures company. In an email to subscribers, Simon and Lisa from Pig Iron Productions have said that after 15 years they will be closing down at the end of March 2016. "Wargaming, sculpting, painting and scenery making will still play an important part of our lives so we’ll be keeping the Facebook site open to keep in touch with the wider gaming world." They have said that they are exploring ways of keeping the ranges going with other parties, but Pig Iron itself is no more! I have to say this is really sad. I have an untold number of the Pig Iron range of heads - they're Colony Militia heads are just the best (top left)! I even visited their site only the other week hoping that they would be going to plastic or resin at some point, so I could more easily convert their miniatures. This development is quite a shock! Simon and Lisa say that they want to "live a more 'normal' and relaxed life" and who can blame them? Thanks so much for your great products, guys. Enjoy your new found freedom! |
