Raiders of Commorragh is broken up into sections. The army section which includes four armies: The Kabal of the Flayed Skull, the Cult of Strife, Prophets of Flesh and Lords of the Iron Thorn. Then those armies are split up throughout the painting guide, with a dedicated section for each. They layout is very similar to the Companies of Fenris, but seems to include more background and development for the armies. Maybe the Dark Eldar just have more variance in their force in terms of markings, but there is a really nice amount of info here. In terms of painting, there is a huge amount of detail in here and it covers everything from skin to weapons to markings to armour. If you're new to the Dark Eldar or you want some inspiration - this is a good place to start! - + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below. |
Armies
Painting Guide
It covers everything from armour and flayed skin to weapons, vehicle markings, characters and more.
There's so much to see here that there's not too much point putting it up, but you get the drift!
These are fiddly miniatures, so any hints on how to paint these guys is handy!
Verdict
My only real criticism is that the armies really aren't that well painted and some of the close up photography isn't that great.. It is good to see what real armies look like and at least they aren't airbrushing anymore.
Maybe it's just a different vision of the Dark Eldar and that's cool, maybe I'm being too tough.
As far as background goes, there's lots of good info - can't fault it really!
So like the Companies of Fenris, this is a good resource for all kinds of painting, not just Dark Eldar.
