It's a big day for some of the older hobbyists out there, with new models and rules for the Genestealer Cults out next week.
There have been Genestealer Cult minis back in the late 80s, and of course lots of Imperial Guard armies painted purple as proxies, but now here we have some awesome new plastic minis, and as we reported exclusively yesterday on our Facebook - these are new kits, NOT repackaged from Overkill.
First up there is the very first Genestealer Cult Codex, which is available in normal and deluxe version. They say that this is full of fluff, so here's hoping it's nothing like some of the recent fluff-less Codex (Dark Angels, we're looking at you!). There are also dice, Data Cards and two paint sets - one for layers and one for drybrushing.
Also looks like White Dwarf next week has been taken over by the Hive Mind and Genestealers (maybe with some previews of coming weeks) will dominate that too.
But what about the miniatures we hear you cry? Well...

There are two main sets being released next week - the Neophyte Hybrids (above) and the Acolyte Hybrids/ Hybrid Metamorphs set (below).
As we said earlier, we got the news that these would be new kits, not the ones from Overkill, yesterday and having a look at the sprue breakdowns, it's very good news for hobbyists. The Neophyte Hybrids set has seperate arms, torsos, and legs abound. There don't seem to be any separate weapons for the bitz box, but it's really nice to see some plastic autoguns and shotguns again! First time since Necromunda that we can think of. How good is the head on that squad leader BTW?!

The Acolyte Hybrids/ Hybrid Metamorphs are all about claws and swords - and a tonne of extra heads. There's also that large saw weapon and whip arm we saw in the teaser a few days ago.
