Space Marines with shields, right? Could there be a better combination ( ...apart from Jessica Biel and a box of Cinnamon Toast Cereal)? The re-introduction of shields with the Breacher Squads has seen them return with vigor! Now, I've read lots of opinions on if they are good to play or not - but frankly they look awesome. Recently I was looking to get some shields to add to my War Hounds Legion to give them some heavy infantry and came across these ones by The Painting Bunker. I tracked the guys down via their FB - and I have to say - these shields are awesome! Designed for Terminators these give some mega punching power to any heavy infantry squad, that's for sure! + + More After The Jump + + |
The resin is easy to cut and doesn't shatter, so that's a plus, and at around $25 for 10 ($AUD) I'm wrapped!
The details are good and deep with no ( I stress NO) warping.... listening Forge World? Uh-huh!!
The back of the shield has a hand attached which fits so perfectly onto a Terminator you want to weep.
It also includes the connecting cable for under the hand and the notch for it to slip onto the wrist!
The details, despite my dodgy paint applications, stayed true and crisp with the rivets very clear.
Imagine your line of Space Marines, like Roman Legionnaries, shields raised and pushing forward into the Xenos foe while Assault Marines power over the top of this indomitable barrier to take the enemy on in hand to hand combat. Can you hear the crunching of heavy-soled boots right now?
If you were worried about the lack of shooty-holes for the Bolter to utilize - just cut one of the squares out!

So if you like the look of the Painting Bunker shields, shoot them a line on their Facebook and see if they have any in stock. Contemplating some Breachers, some heavy infantry, maybe some Adeptus Arbites, or maybe your Terminators just need a spruce-up? Try these out!
