Taurox Wheels Conversion - Testing...

The new Taurox Prime is an ugly thing, but the attention to detail and the uniqueness of having an armoured car in WH40K make it too tempting to not try and "fix".
Those tracks just don't look right - so how to fix them? The logical idea is wheels, so I ordered some Ork Battlewagon wheels on eBay and started testing.
Initially I wanted to do an 8-wheeler, but as I very quickly found out, there's just not enough room. So then I tested a 4-wheeler and it kind of looks like a large jeep. Hmmm, so what about a hybrid and go for a half track? Check out the test fit options after the jump...

The space for wheels when you first see the Taurox online seems pretty easy, but when you actually test fit the kit together you realise how small it actually is!
My plan was to put the Ork Battlewagon bogeys in the holes provided and it would all just fit.

As you can see here - that thought was drastically flawed. It left the bogeys and almost an entire wheel hanging out the back and that wasn't accounting for clearance.

The two wheels fit easily (Sherlock Holmes they call me!) but for such a heavy vehicle, they look a tad silly.

Then I thought about a half-track! They were very popular in WWII, so there was precedent for a heavy vehicle to have the configuration. I was surprised how well it went together. It's almost made to take the wheels. Slight adjustment to the clearance of the tracks and it should be fine.

Here's another view. It actually looks quite beefy! 
Just add some skirts under the door and some handles and you have a true half-track.

So what do you think of this quick-fix for the Taurox?
Does it change your mind about it being so ugly? What configuration are you planning?
