"Filler". What is filler? Filler is crap that Games Workshop use to fill out a week. When there's a small release week, they fill the week with crap. And by 'crap' we mean old minis that have no relevance to any current campaign - usually Lord of the Rings or Made To Order. It's not that Lord of the Rings minis are bad, they're just not really relevant. I mean if they rereleased the plastic boxed sets, then that would be something! Now, if this was done on purpose for an anniversary, or was a dedicated offering for a reason, then sure that's fair, but it's also just disrespectful to throw them in to fill up the week. Now, on with the show...
They really should have called this The Big Box of Zone Mortalis of the Mortalis Big Box - it would have been cool! Anyway, there's a large set combining many of the terrain kits from Necromunda on pre-order this week - the Zone Mortalis: Underhive Sector. It's really just two of one sprue, one of another, the Stronghold etc., but having it together is cool. The saving isn't apparently huge, but being in one box sure saves storage and mess.
The winner for best new models of 2021/22 goes to Warcry, and this week we get the pre-order for the new book Tome of Champions 2021, which brings in a whole lot of factions outside the various Chaos gangs. Luckily - and what a happy coincidence this is - there are some sets to support this book; the Slaanesh Sybarites, Kruleboyz, Daughters of Khaine, Thunderstrike Stormcast Eternals, and the Lumineth Realm-lords (including the cow horn hammer guys!). I wonder if the whole cow motif was a turn off to traditional Elf payers...
The Made To Order parade begins. Hot on the heels of their Codex release, we get the chance to get some of the old Tau Ethereal models, including the T'au Ethereal with Equalisers (who knew the Tau were so into hifi!), T'au Ethereal with Staff, T'au Ethereal, and the T'au Ethereal with Honour Blade.
These should really be remade to today's standards for the Tau players out there.
And here we are with this week's filler; Lórien Elf Archers, Armoured Moria Goblins, Easterling Warriors Warband, the Galadhrim Warriors with Swords (Haldir's Elves) and Galadhrim Warriors with Bows (Haldir's Elves) - both last offered in November 2020, Moria Goblin Shaman, Captain of Dale (honestly the visualization of the Dale military is just cringeworthy!) and Galadriel, Protectoress of Lothlórien.
There's also some stocking stuffers on the way from Half Moon Bay: Warhammer 40,000 Imperial Aquila Keyring, Warhammer 40,000 Purity Seal Keyring, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Keyring, Warhammer Age of Sigmar Stormcast Eternals Shield Pin Badge. Guaranteed these were meant to be released for Christmas last year!
Now the other big thing this week is the retirement of some older Space Marine character models. SO go check that out. One of the so Gabriel Seth, so maybe grab him while he's still around!
