It's as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced with news that the Eldar will now be known as the Aeldari. Like their cousins (in a universe that totally isn't the past or even related despite having the same Gods and God-like leaders who arrive via a comet in the sky) the Aelf in Warhammer Age of $igmar, looks like this is yet another new name that can be copyrighted by Games Workshop, but is it a big deal?
Personally I don't mind the Aeldari - kind of suits them! The big question is what about the Dark Eldar? Apparently they are not going to have a name in the same vein ("vein"/ blood/ Dark Eldar! Get it?... never mind!) as the Aeldari. So, will we get a unitede Aeldari coalition now, or will the Dark Eldar adopt the name Games Workshop have been using more and more for them, the Commorrite Raiders?
So what do you think?
Do you like Aeldari? Is it a thorn in your side, a slap in the face? Or is it divine justice that Games Workshop have to stop using the name they "borrowed" from Tolkien? It's all about the Intellectual Property Rights!
