Victoria Miniatures Weapons Review

Just on 2 weeks ago, we brought you the exciting news of the release of Victoria Miniatures new line of 28mm weapons. 
The weapons are of course meant for her own universe of miniatures, but are fully interchangeable with any other 28mm miniatures universe.
Now we have them in-hand, come along as we take a closer look at this awesome addition to any bitz box...

The weapons are all cast in Victoria Miniatures standard plastic/ resin, but being so fine, they have a slightly flexible feel to them.
The details are very crisp, in fact they have the accuracy of historical miniatures rather than the Heroic scale ones we are so used to.

AK Auto Rifle

By far my favourite of the new weapons are the AK Auto Rifles! A twist on the ubiquitous Kalashnikov assault rifle, these futuristic renditions have the feel of the original; that massed produced look, robust and modular, something you could see produced in it's millions. for soldier and freedom fighter alike.

On the right you can see it compared to various Games Workshop weapons. The chunkiness isn't there, replaced by a weighty feel but fine features.

Sniper Rifle

The Sniper Rifle is cleverly modular, with the folding bipod and sniper scope seperate. Again next to Games Workshop weaons, you can see it's slender lines are more conducive to use with human miniatures, especially Dreamforge!

Plasma Rifle

The Plasma Rifles are a nice twist on the standard plasma rifles seen from other manufacturers. It's not as wide and has  a distinctive Steampunk feel to it. It reminds me of some of the WETA Workshop weapons from a few years back. These would look at home in any Imperial Guard unit.

Combat Knives

I bought the Combat Knives on a whim and I'm really happy I did. They are closer to the US style combat knives - "pig stickers" is one of the colloquial terms - where other nations tend to have much longer knives. As you c an see from  the comparison picture, these are very small and snubbed really - but they look great! A great little addition to your troop's kit!

Verdict

It's no secret we're big fans of Victoria Miniatures here and these new weapons will be look great on the miniatures from their range and I'm sure many an Imperial Guard unit. 
Another thing about this range that's really nice is the pricing!
You can get 5 x AK Rifles for $4.00 - now this will help with some army building!

Overall, I would highly recommend these - you will not be sorry!
