| With the Tactical War Hounds well underway, the Sicaran basecoated and a Dreadnought gathering dust, it was probably time to distract myself further and try out a scheme for an War Hounds Assault dude. The pose was supposed to be a salute to The Rocketeer - with the guy about to take off, unfortunately it's a little less dynamic than I hoped - maybe a change of base?! I swept his arms back to make him look a bit aerodynamic, potential fail there. His jump pack is a Maximini one which is very detailed to the point of annoying to paint! I couldn't find Forge World ones anywhere - they used to sell them separately, but no more. The Power Axe is from the Power Weapons set which has come in handy for lots of conversions! The War Hounds icon is a touch too big for MKIII, so have had to order another sheet from Forge World. |
Notice I also added Great Crusade era markings having trawled through the 3 Horus Heresy books to find out where icons were placed and why. Having those kind of icons on the gloves (especially with MKIII) seemed to be very popular.
