| Kick and a Punch for the first of the month and it's Warhammer: Visions Day! Yay! Well maybe not "YAY". Maybe, "Oh really? I'd better look inside...". This title still doesn't seem to be running off the shelves and I can see why. As much as it's beautiful - there still isn't much new stuff for the regular White Dwarf peeps to see. That being said - this month they did try to do a few different things, so kudos to you GW. Forge World makes a brief appearance, and Army of the Month is an amazing Iron Hands force - you just have to see this to believe it! Apart from that it's the usual stuff: washed out Games Day photos, some amazing Armies on Parade and oh... I should mention, and really good Paint Splatter! - + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below. |

As is to be expected, this month's Warhammer: Visions centres around Glottkin and the forces of Nurgle. Most of these images you will have seen before, but then there are some others that are just brilliant!
There's also a section later in the issue called "Glottkin Battles" featuring Glottkin's forces in battle. Some really nice stuff - atmospheric and of course Instagram meltdown!!. #totesfiltered

Just after the New Releases section is a 3 page Forge World section featuring the new Knights. I think it's interesting that Forge World doesn't get more room or choose to really show off the detail of their miniatures here. It's almost an after thought!
Army of the Month is an absolute cracker!! It's Promitheas Spyridis' Iron Hands... and Holy Rusted Bolts - this is a huge force! Sicarans, Land Raiders, a Caestus Assault Ram and a Glaive - plus a tonne of bikes.
Now, I don't generally go in for the whole lighting effects thing, but this is pulled off so well you have to admire it! The green on the black works exquisitely. Just have a look at these pics (below).
There are also some great little conversions and character filled pieces.

Unfortunately 'Eavy Metal this week is mostly recycled material, while Parade Ground is broken into two parts; some awesome looking Ork mechs and then more washed out pics from Golden Demon Birmingham. Gys - the pictures from the GD look naff - drop it. The rest of the Warhammer: Visions shots are amazing - but those are just dreadful!
There are however two great pieces amongst many I thought interesting:

Armies on Oarade has some great forces in it - none more so that this masterpiece by Dimitrios Tampakoudis, part of his Defenders of Calth diorama. This has to be the most character-filled Ultramarine I have ever seen. It's just brilliant! It screams "Horus Heresy." It screams "Space Marine" but doesn't scream "I'm a smurf". Never sen this armour look more impressive.

Now, having ragged on Paint Splatter in this week's White Dwarf, Paint Splatter in Warhammer: Visions this month is just great! THIS is what we want from a hobby magazine! THIS actually tells you something.
Ten pages of Nurgle - from boils to tentacles, metal to teeth - this is what I think will make Warhammer: Visions a great publication. Add in lots of WIPs, exclusive vehicle conversions (like the Whirlwind and the Sabre both were in the old White Dwarf) and you have a great monthly hobby resource.
Keep up the awesome pictures - but value-add, please!

Blanchjitsu this month was a bit disappointing - it was Peter Hudson's Chaos Warband, which is okay, but after the last few months was a tad... 'meh'.
Verdict
Not a bad issue, not an amazing one either! If you want some good Nurgle painting tips, sure pick it up.
If you like the Iron Hands RUN NOW AND BUY THIS ISSUE. You will be enthused and inspired.
Otherwise you can probably leave it this month.
