Warhammer: Visions #4 Review

The first Saturday of every month brings with it the mixed blessing of Warhammer: Visions, which has not exactly been stellar in the past, but this issue has a few things that might just be showing they are paying closer attention to it.
The vast majority of this issue is made up of Astra Militarum shots, which are mostly the ones form White Dwarf, but surprisingly and happily, there are some new ones in there which is really cool and what fans are after anyway!
As such I have skipped the Astra Militarum shots for this review, as you've pretty much seen them before, and concentrated on some of the other bits, including the Imperial World Eaters army by James Karch - and what an army it is. SO much detail.
So is this issue worth getting? More after the jump!

The Forge World section is quite good, looking at Horus and other recent releases, plus a look at one of my favourite models recently, Kharn from the Horus Heresy series.

Following the Forge World section, we get to the Army of the Month that we mentioned last week - and it's a cracker!

As you may know I am making very slow progress with a War Hounds Space Marine force - well here are their successors, the World Eaters by James Karch! It's an amazing force and frankly the best thing about this issue. His World Eaters are dirty and gore-covered and very well done. I don't know how he gets the time. It's also one of the best photographed armies we've seen in a while. The details are crisp and the framing well done. 

Parade Ground has some really great models from across the Golden Demon entries from Cologne. This was one of my favourites!

There's also some shots of this amazing diorama - that we put up in November last year! Way to miss the boat on some amazing work!.

The Kit Bash section has some nice chaos Deamon Princes - it's worth a look if Chaos is your cup of tea!

John Blanche returns with some really nice conversions. Where does this guy get his ideas form? Apart from this behemoth there are also some other really nice models done in only the way John Blanche's twisted mind can.

Other pieces of interest are an Alpha Legion army which uses some pretty old minis, pity really as this could have been very cool!

And finally, the parting shot for this issue is a beautifully painted Lizardmen shot. If only the other minis in that range were so good. So tempting!!

The issue was definitely an improvement, but again the recycled images and Paint Splatter articles could really be better.
The level of photographs is much better. They are clear and not blurry - well their's not mine - and some of the angles and placement is imaginative and almost looks like the still of a battle!
Here's hoping this is the turning point for Warhammer: Visions!
