Greetings and salutations from the land of Degrassi High, Sarah McLachlan and bacon... I'm pretty sure Canadians have bacon on just a-boot everything! Yes I am still in Canada, so this review is a little bit different as I struggle to website build on a tablet. Who ever thought of tablets should be shot!! Right, well after last weeks lack of review (which I will do on my return to Australia) I've actually got one for you this week - White Dwarf 101... how very Adeptus Mechanicus. It's binary! 101!! In the last few reviews you would have noticed that GW were giving us actual content and not a catalogue of stuff to buy. WELL, it's back to form, because this week the entire issue is either a catalogue or filler. *sigh* This week sees the presale for the new Army Bundles and White Dwarf #101 is completely dominated with it... as is obvious when you see the length of this review... Alrighty - and on with the show! |
Being in Canada right now, i have been looking at their prices, and for $100 you can get a pretty nice core to a new army. Take a look at the Tyranid or Slaves of Darkness set for example - that is some serious core units and a commander. Same with the Lizardmen (sorry, but those minis are dreadful!).
Now if you're in Australia or New Zealand, then you will be paying 40-65% more - not as enticing!
These full page showcases go for some time and take up the bulk of this issue. Later in the issue Nurgle and the Adeptus Mechanicus even get four pages each to spruik their new army box.
Also getting a pump this week is the new Garro book, Warhammer Visions (also released today) and... well that's all really. Just that.

White Dwarf vs. Pot of Paint?
Value for money goes with the Pot of Paint
