Happy Saturday to you, fellow traveller! So it's White Dwarf Day and following the Ginger Fury of the last few weeks we get a bit of a taste of 40k and this time delving back a bit of a way to the early 2000s when Games Workshop introduced miniatures for the lost 13th Company of the Space Wolves - the Wulfen. Far from being mutants, the Wulfen are the next evolution of the Space Wolf geneseed after the borderline Long Fang evolution, which produces fangs and sometimes claws. Anyway, you can read more about the Wulfen here, because there are a few other things in this issue of White Dwarf too. The release of these guys is also accompanied by a new Warzone set and various cool Space Wolf items including a new transfer sheet packed full of icons, and this issue also launches the new Forge World Mastadon, the massive Legion transport vehicle! So is this issue any good? + + More After The Jump + + |
These are multi-part multi-pose plastics are pretty amazing and certainly a dream if you want to build a Wolverine army! Snickety snick snick!
There are a lot of weapons options here and certainly a lot of fun spares for anyone who has a Space Wolf army - who wouldn't want to put one of those heads on a Long Fang just for fun!?
These are up these in terms of price. These 5 miniatures are $100 AUD - so around $20 per figure - so pretty steep. If you had an existing Space Wolf force I'm sure you NEED these - but as a casual gamer/ modeller, you'd have to pause when it's that amount of cash.
Warzone Fenris Curse of the Wulfen is the beginning of the story of the daemon invasion of the Space Wolf homeworld of Fenris. Thankfully for the Space Wolves, Krom Dragongaze is there to defend the homeworld - having earned a time out after the Sanctus Reach disaster..

In a fun twist there is also the rules from this new warzone book, but specifically for the daemon side! The Chaos Daemons Grimoire Collection is a really nice touch and it will be interesting to see if they do this in the future. Imagine the Sanctus Reach set doing the same thing...!
This thing dwarfs a Land Raider, so it will be interesting to find out and see more of it as it comes to market.
BOOM!
and run with the pack?
Do you want to sniff the air,
and chase away the neighbour's cat?
(Frozen scarred me deeply!)

Well if you do, then here are the rules, including some of the new wargear
I don't think I even want to now the price...
Verdict
It also looks like this might be a bit of an exciting year for 40K if this keeps up. These warzone books are very cool - pricey but cool!
