The introduction of Nagash and The End Times has apparently seen a boom in Warhammer Fantasy sales across Games Workshop stores this week. Even online retailers are seeing Nagash and his followers flying off the shelves. So it's no surprise to see the domination of Warhammer Fantasy in this week's White Dwarf. Last week it was the Mortarchs (released this week - read our unboxing) and this week it's Nagash's elite bodyguard, the Morghasts. Apart from being cool looking miniatures, they actually have a really cool back story. But what else is in this issue? We have the Spirit Host, 'Eavy Metal, Armies on Parade and a battle report with a very nice darkly painted Empire army! + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below. |
The Morghast kit give you two options - the Morghast Archai or the Morghast Harbingers.
The Archai have some pretty lethal looking halberds, while the Harbingers carry two blades that look like they would cleave a house in half!
By the looks of it, both the Morghast options share the same head, the Archai are just wearing a gnarlie helmet - which for me makes them the pick of the two.
It's a bit hard to get an idea of their exact size - but they are very cool!
Not really my cup of tea, but the movement on these guys is really well done!
It's also really cool to finally have a WIP of the Iron Hands Captain later in the issue.
The battle report also gives us a better idea of the size of the Morghasts.
Here we get a really good look at how different Spirit Host and Skeleton legions can be painted.
Nice to see there are different approaches - Hell I wash my skeletons with a yellow/ brown wash which is really old school it seems!
Keep this up GW - Paint Splatter can be this interesting every week!
Verdict
If it's passing you buy, save your cash and put it towards the supposedly incoming Dark Eldar!
