| Hello fellow White Dwarf-ers. It's week 400 of the Harlequins release and as it begins to draw to a close, GW have added some more expanded content to this week's White Dwarf. To be fair they have been doing this in recent months, certainly this year, so kudos to them! A few weeks back I pondered the thought that this release was interesting considering how niche the Eldar as a whole are. I can see how and why Imperial additions would make sense and Chaos too, but allies to an already disparate force was an interesting choice. This week however they have started to flesh out more fully how the Harlequins fit into or supplement other Eldar forces. This almost seems to be an opportunity to highlight the Eldar forces to a wider audience while also pumping out new miniatures. Conspiracy? Maybe! The Shadow seer is a really interesting model. It takes a fair few elements from existing Eldar and Dark Eldar models and combines them; the Dark Eldar grenade launcher on his back, the Dark Eldar helmet under this hood, plus the tight body armour, jewellery and Shiruken Pistol from the Eldar. There is also an alternate Neuro Disruptor similar to the one we saw last week that harks back to Rogue Trader.

The Death Jester is pretty much what most people see when they think of Harlequins - the smiling face of death! This miniature is basically a re-imagined version of the one we have always had, but this time on a whacking great piece of scenery! Notice the shiruken stuck into the surface of the scenery BTW.

Books this week are the paperback version of Altdorf from The End Times in WHFB and Archaon; Lord of Chaos, the second part in the series. Also in this spread you will see the other Eldar forces GW are trying to tie into the Harlequins release. I wonder if ti will work?!

Look!!! More brotherly/ sisterly love between the Space Elves. Please, we know the Dark Eldar would truss and flay an Eldar in 30 seconds flat. This seems contrived to me... Makes for spectacular looking armies, but as far as canon goes, the two halves of the Eldar spectrum do not make good bed fellows.

In that same section there is this short look at the Harlequins and the Telemar Craftworld. Nice to see some black on the Eldar. Striking looking Aspect Warriors too!
There are four miniatures in this section, all very nicely done with a fair write-up on each which concentrates on story rather than painting technique.

Sprues and Glue delivers quite a lesson on basing including incorporating those thick GW basing kit pieces onto the bases of the miniatures. Worth a look.

Rules - a lot of people like to see rules... here they are!
Paint Splatter this week is interesting only purely to see how rough this paint job is!
.. blah, blah, blah in the back of the book - THEN...
I like using Agrellan Earth for bases and this is quite a neat trick from Warhammer World about making it crack more. I find applying it thickly gives better cracks, but this trick is worth trying!
Verdict
As I said earlier, GW have been adding more to these latest issues (in general) than just the new releases and although this does concentrate on Eldar of all descriptions, this also has some fairly decent hobby info too. This is probably what Warhammer: Visions should be doing but in a longer version!
