The relentless march of the Adeptus Mechanicus roll moves on this week - or should I say rolls on - as the Kataphron Battle Servitors bring some more mobile boom-boom to their faction. Servitors have gone and out of fashion at Games Workshop, but these miniatures are epic in appearance and the rules make them absolutely devastating. These guys are effectively tanks that can aim as if they were stationary - while moving! But if you expected much else in White Dwarf in terms of releases this week you will be sadly disappointed because it's pretty much man-tanks and a Yarrick book! That being said there is other stuff, some Paint Splatter, a Theatre of War scenario, Forge World rolls out a nice looking mini and Nurgle. This is probably where the rumours of new Nurgle was coming from, but alas Followers of the Stinky God it is just a showcase of some lovely models! + + More After The Jump + + |
The Kataphron are definitely not pretty!
There's two flavours of Kataphron; the Destroyers are effectively heavy infantry on tank tracks with enough weapons to melt Terminators. The Breachers have a more arduous task, wheel out the Mechanicus' most arcane technology to truly deal devastation to the enemy at close quarters.
The information about the Kataphron is pretty scant in this section initially, but there is a look at how the Mechanicus use Servitors and interestingly a mention of the Adeptus Arbites.
Haven't heard about them in a while
Verdict
Personally I thought it was a bit weak!
