This week's White Dwarf may have the second most derided release on it's cover since the release of this incarnation of White Dwarf - the Stormfang. Now I'll put it out there - I quite like it. It's big and chunky and looks like it's dropped out of the sky purely due to it's weight. Could it use bigger engines? Yes, probably! The Stormfang is is designed by the same guy who brought us the Hydra/ Wyveryn - Nic Ho - and as much as that kit was a bit boring., the Stormfang at least can't be called boring! So from an issue dominated by this release there's also a War Diary update, the new limited edition Horus Heresy novel, lots of Space Wolves and Phil Kelly's Codex: Apocrypha. There's also an article on the Space Wolf Great Companies which one would hope means this will be explored further. + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below |
My only real gripe with this - is that they don'[t show if it has an interior or not! Nor do we know if the ramp comes down to show the troops disembarking... sad but true!
Also this week are two Space Wolf related releases, Wolves of Fenris - a collection of short stories - and also the The Fang spray paint, which will come in handy for my Firestorm Armada fleet.
It is interesting to see the use of Agrax Earthshade for the wash though...!
Verdict
For others, maybe not that crash hot, but there is at least some content to read.
