 | It's been a bumper week for releases with the Stormfang/ Stormwolf and also Warhammer: Visions #7, but it's White Dwarf #27 that holds the real bounty this week! With Space Wolves the flavour of the month, we get the Venerable Dreadnought kit that allows you to make one of three kits - the standard Dreadnought, Murderfang or fan favourite, Bjorn the Fell-Handed. We also get a look at the upcoming Space Wolves Codex and it's super-expensive deluxe edition(s) which are not only pretty, but have extra content - damn you GW! You have to admit, the Space Wolves do bling pretty well. I mean if you changed their colour scheme they could just be Pimp Marines - and the new Dreadnoughts certainly live up to that!

Your standard Venerable Dreadnought comes with alternate heads - the helmet or a Fenrisian Wolf-style skull head. The skull does look particularly bad-arse! He also has a killer axe that would look smashing if time was spent on it. He can also be armed with twin-clawed hands.

Murderfang might be old and encased in a Dreadnought, but the guy likes the breeze in his face - like any dog would! From memory this is the first Dread we've seen with his head exposed.

And then we have Bjorn, once a member of ABBA, now stuck in a suit of armour, not even able to get his head out in the breeze like his old pal Murderfang! Bjorn carries either his traditional armament or the new/ old Hellfrost technology. He's also covered in Starks!
Now something also pretty cool is the wolf head on his smoke launchers - that will be making it's way into my War Hounds armoury!

There's also the first look at the Space Wolves Codex and their mighty bretheren, the limited edition Long Fang Edition and Wolf Guard Edition - both too expensive for my tastes! Uusally i'd turn away from these, but they both come with a painting guide to all the Great Companies. Not cool GW!!

White Dwarf really is the perfect place to showcase Forge World miniatures. Both the Krios Venator and the Thanatar Seige-Automata look HOT! Then of course there is the Salamanders Contemptor Dreadnought - how many Dreadnoughts can you get?

The bit of background and the Designer's Notes on Bjorn are okay - but have a look at the detail on his armour. That Wolf looks a bit blobby doesn't it? Maybe it's just the highlighting...
Also in the issue are some new book/ audio drama releases around the Space Wolves, Jeremy Vetock talks about something (??) and Paint Splatter is ordinary. The last 3 pages is packed full of stuff though and seems to be expanding each week, which is a good thing!
As far as this issue goes - it's very Space Wolf focussed. There are some nice other minis, but expect a lot of Blue Grey and beards with bling!
