In the scheme of things, the release of the new Grey Knights Codex has been greeted with either muted tones or apathy - it really hasn't set the world on fire, especially after the release of the Space Wolves over the past few weeks.. Maybe Games Workshop should have had a fantasy release and given WH40K players a chance to breath? As it is, the releases are generally just repackaging older sets, but there's a little bit of value in there if you search; the Strike Squad for example - you save $10 by buying the new 10 man box instead of the old 2 x 5 man boxes.. And you were skeptical... (sarcasm) But i's not just Grey Knights this week - there's also the next installment of Sanctus Reach, Hour of the Wolf, and yet more Space Wolves... + + More After The Jump + + ~ WARNING - I am not a photographer, so expect dodgy pictures below. |
From this brief glimpse it does look like GW will be sticking with the one silver scheme for their Grey Knights, despite some fantastic alternate schemes out there in fandom.
The new Strike Squad set has doubled in size and also bundled the Purifier, Interceptor and Purgation Squads into the set. A perfect place to start your Grey Knight force.
It just needs something more!
I love the idea of the Skyclaws, but the legs could have been more dynamic. Compare these to the assault marine legs and these guys look like tactical marines with big backpacks! Even look at the Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard or Death Company - not those are dynamic legs!
