 | Saturday again, and time for another White Dwarf! You may remember last week when the issue, according to me, was absolute crap - today is not a day for subtlety, my friend! This week, Games Workshop have returned to probably the better parts of the last 7 issues, the Imperial Knights. This issue sees some much nicer photography than last issue and a bigger emphasis on written articles, which surprisingly are pretty good. They certainly flesh out some more Imperial Knight background and introduce the new Apocalypse Warzone: Damocles book which is based during the Third Expansion and brings Tau to the fore - come on, give the Tau some love! The double page spread highlighting the new Apocalypse Warzone: Damocles book is of course a big ad - but who cares - it gives the basic overview of what to expect in the book. I would have liked to see a few more pages.. It wasn't enough to sell me on it as yet.

The Joining the Crusade article is interesting and talks about how you can integrate Imperial Knights into your existing army. It answered a question a while back as to if the link between some Space Marine Chapters and Imperial Knight Houses would still exist in this reboot - it does! It's a nicely done article with a few cool pics that may inspire.

Right - last week I remarked how disappointing the Helbrutes articles were, but this week they slightly redeem themselves with some better paint jobs and definitely better pictures.
Now here's the thing - and I'm not alone in this - Paint Splatter is just crappy! The articles are simplistic and at the same time really don't show you anything! How about some advanced techniques? Some ideas to really brighten up your models? There are some amazing modellers and painters out there - get guests in if you have nothing to add!
I really liked this short article on the Third Expansion. It's short, but sets the scene pretty well. Great to see the Tau back too. They are an expansive empire and should be respected for being such, not a group of fluffy bunnies in mech suits!
More on the Damocles Campaign and the Third Expansion, again nicely put together. Although the first pages on this really didn't work for me, the fluff sections sell it well!
This little tid-bit of information is in the back of the magazine and can I tell you... SHOULD have been the Paint Splatter article for this week! One picture and a scarcity of words? NO!
