It has to be said that White Dwarf Issue #9, with it's new addition to the Imperial Guard armies (AHEM... sorry, Astra Militarum armies) is probably the most leaked of any issue so far. |
I will be raiding bitz stores all over the world to get these for my army.
The Miliatrum Tempestus Scions are a fantastic looking kit. The helmets are cool, the poses are pretty nice, and the new added armour gives them a real feel of the old world. I think it's a real shame there's only 5 in the box - you would be looking at $90 AUS to get a 10 man squad.
If you like berets, then this will be super-exciting. If you don't, well you have some spare heads!
Unfortunately the images we have seen so far have been in that pretty ordinary blue, because in the green it's actually quite interesting... pity about the wheels!
The Taurox/ Taurox Prime has lots of options in terms of armament and is also available to the Imperial Guard... Astra Militarum - happy?!
Now, my friends - where can I get a nice set of wheels for this kit? Maybe the Ork Battlewagon?
And it's in this write up on the Codex we see this:
The masters of "do this or i'll blow your head off" have not disappeared. In fact with a mention like this I wonder if we will be seeing some new models soon!
Despite it's fairly unattractive look, I can see a lot of players actually using them.
Again, we see the green colour scheme which was put on the back burner - Hell knows why!
So, as we thought, Cadians won't be getting the flick anytime soon.
Now here we see one of the few references to the Imperial Guard. We also find out that the Imperial Guard are not fans of the arrogant and aggressive Tempestus Scions! | ... Often called the Imperial Guard by the common soldiers within... |
There's a fair bit to read, some repetition but you get that, so i'd say on balance it's worth a purchase even if it's to ponder the building options of the new sets.
