We start out the issue with a double page splash of the Miliatrum Tempestus Scions. These are very nicely detailed models! The text talks about them being an elite unit, the Stormtroopers of this present incarnation actually, something confirmed by the designers later on...

The officer really caught my eye here - he has a pickelhaube helmet!!! How absolutely amazingly cool.
I will be raiding bitz stores all over the world to get these for my army.
The Miliatrum Tempestus Scions are a fantastic looking kit. The helmets are cool, the poses are pretty nice, and the new added armour gives them a real feel of the old world. I think it's a real shame there's only 5 in the box - you would be looking at $90 AUS to get a 10 man squad.

We then move on to the Miliatrum Tempestus Command Squad. which is pretty much the same as the others... but with berets! Yep, berets.

It has to be said at this point that I think doing close ups of the Games Workshop studio army was a mistake! The paint quality is very low and the close ups do it no favour. In times past, they used to sometimes have the sprues painted up. That would be preferable to this quality. Sorry if that's rude!

The Miliatrum Tempestus Command Squad comes with some pretty kick-arse accessories and probably one of the the best Imperial Guard (I said it - it's in context!) commanders ever. He's even holding a bolt pistol!!
The Taurox/ Taurox Prime - which I thought might have been a practical joke - is in fact real.
Unfortunately the images we have seen so far have been in that pretty ordinary blue, because in the green it's actually quite interesting... pity about the wheels!

Away from the Imperial... Astra Militarum... there's an article that pits the Eldar and Tau against the Necrons. It's a really nice Eldar army actually, with some nice conversions!

Paint Splatter shows us some very basic tips about painting and a glimpse of some trenches in action! Are these new?? I don't remember seeing them before!

The designers notes section is actually pretty cool, showing us all the head variants in the boxes and also some details on the Taurox/ Taurox Prime design.

This is actually a pretty good issue.
There's a fair bit to read, some repetition but you get that, so i'd say on balance it's worth a purchase even if it's to ponder the building options of the new sets.
