++ Delivery Fulfillment Week-of 11/11/23 ++
Cities of $igmar has been teasing us for some time now. All those pretty banners and grizzled faces, things that go boom and heavy armour. Praise-be Bretheren, they are here, and all starting with the Cities of Sigmar Battletome, which comes in Glorious Trudging Steel Limited Edition or Huddled Mass of Humanity Standard Edition. Cities of Sigmar has taken a much grimmer tone to the old days, but they still love a wing-ed beast, and Tahlia Vedra, Lioness of the Parch rides said monstrosity. In fact she's a bit of a monster in her own right, leading from the front, a little different from her Freeguild Marshal and Relic Envoy who maybe plays it a bit safer. These lovely models carry so much character with them and have multiple build options. Someone who does lead from the front is the Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal, a personal highlight from this range. He has an alternative head and that's about it, but the posing and baring of this mini is a triumph. Speaking of character, the Freeguild Command Corps is a collection of them. Possessing different attributes to help your units, this is a ragtag assortment of weirdos that will fit right in with the universe. It would be interesting to perhaps see some units introduced to go with the look some of these minis have. Magic plays a part in this universe, and the Pontifex Zenestra, Matriarch of the Great Wheel is certainly one of those practitioners. An amazing looking model, she is but one of the magical weapons in the Cities of $igmar army, for she is shadowed by the Alchemite Warforger - a brilliant looking mini which will surely become kitbash fodder for years to come. With the leadership and specialists out of the way, it's time to get down to the mailed fist! The Freeguild Cavaliers are the Knights of the force - heavy horse with multiple build options for each rider. A very nice kit, highly detailed and a must-have for hobbyists! It's far less glorious on the ground, and that's why the Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk has an easier time of it, leading his troops while riding this universe's version of a tank. Still, would you want to be up there? The afore-mentioned troops are the Freeguild Fusiliers - probably the poster boys and girls of this force. A great original looking unit, these form a strong gunline to keep your enemy back, while the Freeguild Steelhelms are the poor bastards who have to get into hand to hand combat with the foe. Supporting these ground troops is the amazing Ironweld Great Cannon, surely a hit with many hobbyists, this has multiple options for the crew and is surely another must-have.
Age of $igmar also brings us the next part of the Dawnbringers campaign, with Dawnbringers: Book III – The Long Hunt, which comes in Pale Rider Limited Edition and Fearsome Winged Foe Standard Edition. The book introduces not only a new path to the narrative but also a number of new units with the Stormcast Eternals - Cryptborn's Stormwing dragon riders and for the Sylvaneth - The Blades of Belthanos, a powerful character on a powerful giant bug, plus some underlings! This is the introduction to both Ionus Cryptborn, Warden of Lost Souls and Belthanos, who will (down the line) be available outside these units. Fear not, "He" is finally here - the Frank Frazetta-esque Harbinger of Decay - and what a model he is. Probably a front runner for Golden Demon entrants this year, he's a great (if not original) idea. Nurgle isn't the only recipient of new characters, we have the Fyreslayer's Grimhold Exile and a new elite unit for the Stormcast, the Blacktalons, who draw from different units and allies to build a rather pricey strike team!
In books this week, we have Da Gobbo Rides Again in hardback, Bad Loon Rising in paperback, Blacktalon in hardback, a 40K anthology with Galaxy of Horrors in paperback, Godeater's Son in paperback, The Vulture Lord - which stars the Bonereaper's very own Zothar Athrabis - in paperback and an Age of $igmar anthology, Untamed Realms in paperback.

Pretty big week, but is it just us or does having a two week-pre-order window take the anticipation away? It seems a long time between the launch, the anticipation and the delivery - which is exactly what we predicted when this started. Let's see how long it lasts!
